The study is looking good! Don't forget some more dark lines around the edges of his back, and use a soft brush (even just a tiny amount cause I know you don't like em) to blend the darker shadowy colours into the lighter ones.

With the portrait, lower her right eye a little, also make the nose stick out a little more and give her more nostril, as from this angle and the shape of the nose you should be able to see more. Where her nose flattens to her cheek you should add a little more shade. Don't forget to apply your eye studies to hers! I drew over a little bit if you wanna have a look to compare changes. Mines way to 'airbrushy' but it gives you an idea of how I'd see it.

The imagination one is looking good but he could lower his axe to rest on his shoulders more or give him bigger shoulder muscles to make up the space. His legs are just a little too big in proportion to his torso, and push them back a little so he looks like he's leaning into the axe?

You got the proportions of the face right in the SP it just doesn't look like your features haha. I think it's just the big lips that throw it off.

Or I could be wrong, but you told me to just say crits so you got what you asked

So overall i'd say you've had a pretty good day.

Heyy man, these last updates are looking good.

Those are some coool Sihlouettes, but my main problem with them is that they are all very symetrical, try add some more asymmetrical details and they should start to look a little more interesting.

The facial features on the master study are looking a little flat / unclear refining them might add make the features more apparent, also the neck is looking a little chunky as its almost merging into the head to make one whole shape, i'm not familiar with the original but perhaps trim the neck a little under the chin so that its more obvious that its more clearer to define.

Hope that makes sence, i'm a little tired.. keep it up! Your getting better man

Great journey through this sketchbook - your value in your colour studies and general form is getting good. theres a few issues with the alighnment of the eyes (on the last page- im not sure if u have corrected that yet) but try to think of them in perspective like anything else. great sketchbook though.

Still lifes are getting better! maybe try sketching your CHOW again from scratch but in the same pose to see if you can fix some more of the anatomy?

He's looking a lot better, big improvement on the face. Maybe give him some angry furrowed eyebrows to emphasise his ROAR. I think instead of having his feathery cape go under his arms you should try it more like a cloak where it fastens in the middle, think it would help the flow of his raised arm more. Could try adding some far away rocky mountains in the background to give a little more perspective too?

Todays stuff, starting to get to grips with mixing refs kinda makes it a study in itself.. i should have realised this a lot earlier.

youre doing good man. always nice to see someone workin hard for all these studies, try not to just copy shapes; understand what youre studying. suprisingly a lot of that actually comes from looking at your subject and not the painting part. also, bridgeman and vanderpoel and everyone are great, but doing studies of their stuff is just teaching you how THEY simplify forms; they learned from the real thing. try mixing in studies from photos/life as well and youll get a better understanding of it all.
hope that all helps keep it up!

Somebody just got a bit more awesome. WICKEDGOOD. Be careful with making sure there's no colour gone stray, e.g. on the CHOW I can see where you've missed erasing around the edges of him. I want to eat the shiny apple.. with the shiny spoon.

Your lines are getting better! Try to make more time comsuming drawings... like... a more detailed and complete study! You'll learn tons! Keep up the work man! You've got great ideas, can't wait to see what they'll look like when you refine your technical ability!

hey man, lookin good. that last batch of mma studies is solid. you got the proportions a lot more accurate than a lot of your other ones. whatever you did differently on those its working. colors are doing better too hue and value are good, just watch the saturation levels. you seem to have most of your colors in the 30-70% range. dont be afraid to push out in some areas; just be careful, its easy to let them get away from you
    cheers mate
