Nice! Some of the dudes have a bit of a cow stance thing going on, the knees are pointing outwards a bit much, like ( ) if you understand. Great work tough!

You nailed the lighting and colours on that second orthographic. They're coming along really well!

Cool studies again, man. The mouths look good. One thing I do with teeth is that I try to not draw the lines between each individual tooth. I always think that makes them look like they have to wide gap between the teeth and it looks weird. I try to explain the teeth as one shape and then shade out tooth by tooth when they get to the corners and into shadow. Kinda hard to explain but you just have to test til' something good comes out of it I guess
    Keep rockin' dewd!

Have you tried playing around with textures on the clothes? Might be a quick way of making them POP

Mincx- yeeeah i started adding textures the other day they pop alot with a sharpen mask, but i still consider it a quick fix NO TIME!

Teapo- Thanks man, yeah i wanna do a lot more life studies but i got the last 2 weeks of uni ahead of me so Im getting the minimum amount done at the minute but gonna try some more SP's it was relatively painless haha

    Karonno- Thanks! il try

So as i said i got about 18 days till my final hand in for uni so sorry for lack of updates as well as interesting ones. Managing to squeeze a bit of traditional studies in but spending most of the day rendering BORING.

Also my hand keeps cramping and i know its pretty common when drawing a shit load, anyone know any exercises n stuff to help prevent carpal tunnel? getting a tad worried.

When doing the mouths, I think it'll help if you think of it as shadow shapes rather than line. Because that's usually what people do wrong I think.. or well, maybe not "wrong" but it's wrong to me.

If we have a face lit from above. The upper lip will be pretty much in shadow. The creek of the mouth will have a cast shadow. The lower lip will be lit, and depending on how wet/glossy the lip is, there's going to be a highlight strong or weak. Then there's a castshadow under the lip and this shadow also follows along the muscle that goes around the mouth, creating that U shaped shadow.

So if we block this out it's like shadow castshadow light shadow. Try just putting down these strokes and see what happens.

I agree with teapo, and think the pixelization of your references is a cool way to get a palette.
It looks to me like you might need to slow down a bit with your studies, you know try and think about what you're doing a little more.
But man, can't knock the effort!

hey fugde loaf, i think your self portrait turned out well ,and as mentioned above mabye play around with some textures is always a good idea,

as for the hand cramps, i had same problem becuase of my old tablet the pen was pressing betew my index finger and thumb once i bought new tablet and new pen it's all good, (was a fucking stupid design on my old tablet) avoid to hold the pen to hard might also help, also if you for exampel put some heat on the muscle ( not so it burns you ) like when you take a shower put the warm water on and put it over your hand, heat makes the blood work better and helps muscles relax or something along those lines, dont rember exacly why, atleast it helps , was told this by my doctor when i had problem with my arm

Another 4 hours on the sargent a lot of colour correcting was needed and used the nav window alot (thankyou lovedoctors!) and 3-4 hours on an SP which was facking terrible at first but fixing it really helped me figure some shit out.. even though its still lacking in errrr a face.

Good job on the master studies, something I have to get to soon.
Something I see, particularly in the sp's is it looks like you get a bit caught up in the features of the face and so they are a bit to big, it gives me a weird sensation like I'm standing way to close to you!
    Keep it up!

Just Call Me Bruce- Thanks man, yeah those sp's are pretty errr awful haha but i do get caught up in the features i think im treating them seperate to the face so dont realise what im doing thanks for the crit.

    Aryeh- Thanks man il try!

Teapo- yeeey he lives! thanks man i think I am which makes me even more annoyed that i didnt get an SP done today damn my need for sleep

So today was full of bad studies probably becuase of the noise and shiny graphics of e3 distracting me so i just took my time on the master study sorting out proportions and colour as much as i could.

Still applying studies and doing a lot more but nothing of merit as of yet gotta get these faces down
