    Beginner Bren

I've been a beginner for years. Drawing mostly 3/4 view faces in the bottom of a page and not learning much (or even trying to).

Only very recently I decided that I wanted to take drawing more seriously and try to put in a good few hours every week. These are some of my sketches from late 2012 up until now. Lately I'm trying to spend most of my time drawing hands because they are the most daunting and difficult.

The first pic is copying Eduardo Risso from the comic 100 Bullets. The bottom 3 pics are from this week.

    Cheers

I just got a 3DS with Monster Hunter. So productivity is somewhere between 0 and 2% right now.
I've learned that the best way for me to get better at the moment is by google imaging stuff like "Draw arm" etc and just keep copying them over and over until the shape and anatomy is burnt into my brain. I started this with hands and it worked really well, though I still have a long long way to go. But here is some arms I've been doing. I think they're fine for now. Feedback welcome (be gentle ).

Copied from an Avengers vs Xmen issue. Not trying too hard to get anatomy right but just wanting to get better at natural poses which I find really daunting. Most of these are of people in the background of the panels so they're really small.

If anyone has any recommendations for websites for drawing poses that would be fantastic.

I've decided that in May my goal is to fill up the remainder of one of my sketchbooks. It seems manageable with only 38 pages remaining (I won't be drawing on both sides) but enough to still be a challenge.

So anything below this post will be part of...

Could be interesting. But I guess it depends on what's being compared. If it results in a "my sketchbook is totally better than your sketchbook" then it would probably just end in one of us curling up in a ball and crying, lol.

Maybe focussing on quantity? Something at least worth thinking about until we can come up with an idea...
