Hi ,my name is Max i'm 23 years old. I draw and paint since autumn 2008, mostly environments. I need some motivation ,that's why i've decided to start this sketchbook.

I really love your environment sketches and drawings, would love to get some tips on how you do it. Do you start with a basic layout sketch? Or do you just dab on paints where you like and see where it takes you? I can't wait to see more

oh wow hey you are on your way to getting real good at this! love the orange and the tree in the forrest piece. You just gotta love those ethereal bluish glows! though frankly they dun feel "heavy and stable" enough for me. But tt's just me. Weird comments. lol. hope to see more improvements!

Elvy - it depends on what type of environment i want to paint. If it's a studie from photo or life i paint form and atmosphere directly. Just by picking color ,value that i need and putting brushstrokes down on a canvas. If it's environments from imagination (sort of sketches) i have to think more deeply. Sometimes i start with composition and ideas in lines or value. But more often i'm putting warm and cool colors (maybe playing with color balance in PS) with value but with no form at all. If color pattern looks fine ,it's time to draw some form on it. That's my process

Environments look Awesome! The colors are rich and the topics look interesting! You've got some mad pencil rendering skills too and the trees from life look great! I'd try it myself if it wasn't so cold here. Looking at these, it's hard to believe you've just drawn for 2 years.
