Who would you have to dinner?

This is a question asked of me by Jucas: If you could have three people to dinner from any time in history, and language was of no consiqunce, who would they be?

So, I'm curious who you all would have at your table. Post 'em if you got 'em.

    Personally, I would have:

    Siddhartha Gautama Buddha
    Jeff Buckley
    Bruce Lee.

Someone pick up the baton, it's your turn...

I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled "Poets" to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean.(Socrates)

Wow. That's a good question. I think it would be cool to talk to:
    1) Leonardo DaVinci
    2) Carl Sagan
    3) Boadicea (Queen of Iceni Celts)

Have to think about this one...

    1) Jesus
    2) Josephus (Historian)
    3) Lief Ericson
"They were born, they grew up in the gutters, they went to work at twelve, they passed through a brief blossoming period of beauty and sexual desire, they married at twenty, they were middle-aged at thirty, they died, for the most part, at sixty. Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbors, films, football, beer, and, above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds."

    hmmm.....

Jesus Christ, Freidrich Nietzsche and Sidhartha Gautama Buddha.

And for dinner we'd have Fish & Bread, Absinthe, and some kind of vegetarian dish....

We'd most definitely be chatting it up about philosophy/life and all that fun stuff.

I've noticed a lot of people have invited Jesus, but...do we have evidence that he actually existed? (there I said it)

That depends on what evidence would suffice I guess. That is to say there's lineage, dates, places, historical figures all in the christian greek and it corrosponds to historical facts and whatnot (thank you History Channel) that you could find in a library.

afaik there is evidence that there was a guy named jesus, a carpenter roaming that area at that time speaking about special things.. we have no evidence that he was the son of god conceived by a maiden etc.. that is just fanfiction or something

    i wouldinvite
Bengt Lindvall (my mothers late father - never met the guy)
Jeff Buckley (after all he is just another genious unlike the rest of them.)
and after 5 min pondering about the third i have no idea whatsoever, maybe the actress that plays queen amidala in starwars.. or maybe hitler or maybe einstein or maybe van gogh or maybe da vinci or maybe jack the ripper or maybe gandhi or maybe name one and i will probably add him/her...

what about Miyamoto Musashi, or Moses? And nobody has said Shakespear yet... he would be a riot I'm sure. Ooo..what about Bodidharma? He created kung fu... so in essence, he created martial arts... he would be pretty intriguing I think. Anywho, just some thoughts ;p Peace
