    Sketchup Concepts

    Hey everyone,

    I've been really inspired by the work that's been posted here and decided to give sketchup a try, I've never done any 3D modeling before so this was a good intro before I jump into 3DS Max. I'll try and bump this thread every now and then as I gain more experience with the program.

    You've never done any 3D work before?....wow I'm just blown away by these then, especially the gun at the top. That's crazy.

    Hope to see more of these from you.

    Great style, how did you texture that gun? Are you using Photoshop in your workflow?

    @Gunzet - thanks a bunch, I was watching a lot of WW2 documentaries about trench warfare when I did that, the idea of close quarters combat with limited ammunition seemed appealing.

    @Big James - yeah dude I lay in all the textures in photoshop, I use the skew tool and basically line the textures up to the perspective/surface, it tends to make it look more believable.

    @gunnersquad - thanks

    sorry for not updating more often, my comp crashed on me and I lost a lot of stuff

    Here is an environment based around the ELO project I managed to save, all the elements where modeled in sketch up, lighting and rendering done in Cinema 4D, touch ups and fx in Photoshop.

    Great Stuff

    Nice work dude! Could you elaborate on your workflow a little, is it just a simple render from SketchUp to photoshop?
