Damn nice stuff. You are a professional concept artist, no?
Nice start! Looking forward as you come back to the living![]()
great! Really nice chars!
Nice start on sketchbook. These characters are really lovely. They make me wander what the story is behind them. Keep it going.
Cool stuff! Can't wait to see more.

seetsy: That's the plan!
Mister Dark: Thank you.
Vritra: You got it!
Mark Tarrisse:
MacTire: No problem!
cdejong: Thanks. I worked as a 3d Modeler in a video game company. Now I've shifted into concept art.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Here are some things I've been working on since. Oh, and check out my Blog. I *usually* post more often there. Keep drawing everyone!

I actually think your poses could stand to be WAAAYYYY more dynamic. They are all pretty stiff and lifeless in my opinion. And the faces seem devoid of any real emotion as well. In the one of the boy, it almost looks like his arms are on backwards.. I think its the clothes, but not sure. Anyways.. just my two cents.

I agree with nickelhead. i can see the 3d modeler influence in the poses, but I can tell you definately know what your doing well enough to easily fix that. Other than that these are some beautiful concepts! Great handling of form and design. Can't wait to see some more.
Nickelhead: I understand what you mean about the 3/4 posed characters. Pretty emotionless and posed kinda stiff. As for the Boy, He is a style sheet meant for the 3d modelers. The 3d modelers create a generic ''default'' face and pose then rig it to do facial features and animations. Thus, their ref has to be neutral to model over. Thanks for the critiques!
bpic: Thank you!
Been working on this weeks CHOW: Rosie the student necromancer. here are some WIPs.

Nice man, really nice. Keep it up.
Fantastic work! Five star sketchbook for sure.
First page is bangin man! The character designs are GREAT.
cdejong: Thanks dude.
Bombur: Thank you.
Metal Fingers: Thanks! Gotta keep pushing it to the limit ....and beyond!!
Character of the week challenges are super fun. I will definitely participate again in the near future.
Here's my submission to last weeks character, Rosie the Necromancer. Also a night doodle that may not go anywhere.
Gotta work more on Creatures. Characters are kind of a safe zone.

Real good start! Really enjoying a lot of this. Looking forward to seeing more.
Ill be back for sure.
Keep it up.
Awesome stuff, really reminds of Richard Doble's stuff (the technique, that is). Also, do you happen to have Dutch ancestors, because your name sounds really Dutch (I know you are from Canada, seeing your blog).
Nice clean character sketches. The one thing I am missing is character work with lots and lots of lighting information! Pimp them up a bit - makes em more interesting to look at =D
PHATandy: Thanks PHATandy. Sorry to let you down for over a month.
Tom van der Linden: Oh yes, Richard Doble has been a big influence for me. His technique really helped me understand digital painting when i started off. It still rubs off.
As for my Heritage. My Dad is Finnish and my Mom is Chinese.
Crahzz: Thanks! Pimping up my designs! I'm a little scared of lighting. Specifically directional and bounce lighting. I will try though. PS. love your work... but you know that already
Been too long. A Doodle and a creature.
