    A. M. Brown's Sketchbook

Hi, my name's Aaron. I'm 18 from Melbourne, Australia.

So I've decided to start up a sketchbook to try to motivate myself into practising my art a lot more and improving it at a faster rate than I have been doing. I recently got a graphic tablet and so am trying to work out how to use that and photoshop to create digital art.

Constructive criticism and tips would be really helpful

Here's some images to start with:

    1- rough sketch
2- first attempt at painting something in photoshop
3- Work in progress: A study of Albert Bierstadt's 'Looking down Yosemite Valley'

Also I need to work out how to attach images better so they aren't bad quality.

Nice start! I think you have a good sense of 3 Dimensions judging from your line work. The main issues seem to stem from proportions and general anatomy. Do you have some life drawings to post?

Anyhow keep it up! The start is tough, but keep on pushing forward!

redpandafire - Thanks for the feedback and unfortunately I've never been taught (or taught myself) the foundations of art (such as anatomy) - it's all from observation/guessing, but I plan to change that now Also no life drawings at the moment. I'm trying to figure out how to resize my images without losing the quality, but I'm not having much luck with how and don't know what size to use anyway.

Good start, I would agree. The first sketch is so good, canyon as well, good light composition. I'll be honest, may I, I don't like the second one (just not my taste that's all) , HOWEVER, the anatomy is just fine. Keep it up! Your'e doing well!

@Nenad - Thanks Please do be honest

Here are some recent anatomy studies I've been working on from George Bridgman's "The Human Machine". So far just skull, neck, hands and forearms.
