i am an animation student and i been lurking here for about a year so i finally decided to post my stuff since i need to remind myself i need to work harder .the place where i am though being an animation institute does not exactly encourage me to draw but i know what i want to do and be so here goes...critics and comments are appreciated.. thank you


and btw i have no idea how this forum thing works so spare me if i post in the wrong place lol. i sure hope this is the place where sketchbooks are posted.

oh well heres a dragon kind of creature. no reference or anything so the anatomy is wrong i guess. and that guy there is to measure the relative heights to human.

well i am new to digital painting and since i dont have a tablet.. i do it occasionaly when i get time in college. this one took a week to finish cause i obviously dont get the tablet in college :|. well this was done in pencil then colored in ps. i went overboard with the bg i guess.

Great start. You should only downsize that first image before you upload it, cause 1500x2500 resolution is too much to kick the page layout even on a 24" display.

these are some of my old works.. mostly done in mechanical 0.5 pencil. some of it are done in ball pen

well 6 months back, one night it was raining ad my sketchbook was kind of damp so i could not shade properly in my pencil so i thought i gotta buy a new sketchbook but then i thought why not do somethin else in that ook so i started drawing with a pen coz the darkest stroke is very easy to get without spoiling the paper.so my first ball pen sketch was of vincent valentine. after that i kind of started doing portraits with pen. here they are in order

these all have been done in around last 6 months. and the last portrait was done last week...

Hey, hey, if you're just learning about color, I think that these three links'll help.

The first one goes over "color harmonies"; the second one is a more generalized color tutorial that goes over "proportion" and "contrast." The third one is an example of "color relativity"- a color can look very different depending on the colors that surround it.

IMO, the first link is just...awesome beyond compare. But you gotta do what works best for you.

I think your portraits are very good, but I think that your anatomy needs some work, specifically the musculature that you draw in on the chest area. I think that drawing some muscle men from life or a photo might help with this.

And good luck with your animation. I don't know very much about it on a technical level, but I'm surprised that they don't encourage you to draw...What kind of animation is it?

have not uploaded for a long time. just been practicing anatomy from bridgeman. finally finished the book.

well these are some of the stuff i did in holidays.

its done in black blue and green pens with water color and then a little tweaking in photoshop.

i used all kinds of stuff for the first one XD
water colors,poster colors,pencil,pen,pencil color, then finally enhance in photoshop.

the second one is kind of my version of the song smash the control machine by otep. she is awesome 0.0

Nice to see you're still churning out brilliant portraits, some of your full bodied ones need a wee bit of work though, some anatomy studies might be in order- though saying that, I loved the last one with the punk girl!

wow your portraits look gorgeous.. but i have to agree with naidy, if you do some anatomy studies you're going to make some serious stuff..

but again, those portraits blew me away!!

i ve been modeling a vehicle . since i started designing the vehicle so that i can model it has varied a lot from the initial alienish design though i liked the first design more.

later i have modified it even more and completely changed the model.

thanks guys. i need a lot more anatomy studies and i been doing that too. since i took up modelling as my specialisation(partly because there is no concept art opportunities in my college and partly because modelling comes much closer to concept art since i can explore more and improve my technical abilities.)
btw zbrush is awesome O_O

i been doing a lot of anatomies from books like bridgman, michael hampton and burne hogarth . these books are just plain awesome. i wish i was stable enough to finish one book first . but i keep shifting from books to books and again coming back. dont know if its a bad thing or good thing but i do it anyways.
i finally finished bridgeman . but i realised i need to finish it 3 or 4 times before i actually understand the forms clearly.
for now i am doing from michael hampton- figure drawings. its very nice. his figure studies and gestures are awesome . anyways tats a lot of talk.

well i been doing loads of antomy but since i dont have a scanner cant take all those scans but i ll go and take scans soon-_-. anyways i managed to scan somthing in college. well its my own take on lord shiva -the indian god of chaos.
according to me his trishul(his weapon) is actually a snake which a changes itself to the weapon and attaches with his arm. . the middle blade can rotate and cut through anything XD. well the blade design still sucks i know . but dint get time for anything . i ll be working on the weapons design aspect more.
