    Run with the cheetah!

    Hi all!

This is my first skecthbook here. The story is the good old one: long time lurker finally takes up the courage to post his own drawings, etc. Since I am new practically to everything crits and comments are the most welcomed!

Jump to the last page to see the latest works! Thanks!

First a few pencil and pen work, then some skecthes I made in Alchemy (a free drawing program).

Nice start, man! great sense of structure and nice variety of styles. Just some general remarks: Keep an eye on foreheads! you tend to use them WAAAY too small (even for caricatures). Also you really should study those jawlines a little more - almost all of them look really strange in your last post (they look kinda detached from the face). And some technical stuff: using a flat black brush is maybe not the ideal choice for studying anatomy. At least I found more pencil-like digital brushes more useful for this purpose (transparency and/or flow set to pressure if you're a photoshop user).
    That's all. Csak így tovább

Is that alchemy you're using for those loomis skulls? Looks nice.

    Cool caricatures too.

I agree with Novbert - using a brush with variable opacity might let you create the illusion of form more easily. You've got a great start, though. Doing those head studies requires determination, and it looks like you've got it.

    Nice work!

Novbert: Kösz! I will keep an eye on the forehead and jaws. Thanks for the tips ;-)

Benjy: Thanks! Yes these were done in Alchemy, just for the fun of it ;-)

Clean3D: Many thanks! Yeah, keep pushing!

Man, those Frazetta studies are hot! Geat line control! You've inspired me to do some myself too
( Btw: do you have any artistic background or you are simply a natural? )

Ahh Frazetta studies, nice! I actually didn't know who he was until a few months ago ^^ it's fun to see how much influence he has had on artists. Turns out many of the artists I look up to copied a lot of his style.
You have a good sense of anatomy and proportions too. Keep enjoying art!

Thanks for dropping by my SB! Cool experiments with the outlines you did here. I also like the way you handle the cross-hatching, especially on the Delacroix studies, they render the cloth folding very nicely.

My vote goes for #3. The first two looks a bit flat and boring, the fourth is also really uninteresting with its symmetric composition.
    What I like about #3:
    - the slightly tilted view
    - The well established relation between the snake and the woman (through eyelines)
    - The S-curve of the snake
    - Woman's face visible
    - Asimmetric composition

Some more posemaniacs 30 secs, and a few drawings (mostly from refs). Question to anyone who can help: how to set the scanner that your pencil work looks like pencil and not something else?

Hey! Thanks for all the help you've given me in my sketchbook! I really appreciate it! I see much improvement from the last time I was here! The life drawings are really great and show much movement. Your linework is looking good too. The only thing I have is probably work on your shading more if you really want to render things out, like having more than one value Keep it up!

Gryllus Dorka: ref + WIPs. It is not finished so crits are welcome, I know the proprtions are a bit off (eyes and perhaps the nose as well).
