    sketchbook drawing

doodling against boredom. i have to work on my drawing skills.. too much digital painting has made me insecure with my good ol pencil.

i think i'll post new sketches in here from time to time..

nice head. I would suggest following through with some sharp detail pencil lines onthe interior of the body, not just an outline, that should bring the drawing together...I wouldn't be worried about your pencil work. It looks like you know what you're doing.

What Sean said. Plus the highlights on the bumps to the right of his abs seem too strong considering light source. Wicked head!

    kickin*

wow, i really like his face, nice work on the wrinkles/shading. i think the chest looks fine, the muscles in his pecks are a tad off but otherwise good, feel real.

    thanks for the comments, all.
i shaded the body like that because i'm not too good at anatomy and i didn't exactly know, where to put lines, so i just put in a rough shading with a 5B pencil.. the head is done with a 0,7B mechanical pencil. i'll probably go over the body with the fine pencil to add lines, like mcnallyism suggested.
btw, i made that drawing after seeing your sketchthread, ruby... i was inspired as hell and felt like i had to draw something..
    i'll post more stuff soon.

i think the pencil outline kills the drawing. i would either lose it, or reduce the line weight around the areas where the light hits the edges. otherwise, great shading and awesome face. i r in awe
