Kiitos, liikaa harrastuksia jotta ehtisi tätäkin päivittämään. Alkuaskeleita tässä vasta otetaan piirtämisen saralla.
turussa? ite asun pyhäjärvellä, mutta haen syksyllä turun taideakatemiaan![]()
Haven't been drawing for awhile but here's a couple of pictures with more or less reference used.
The first 2 were supposed to be quick ones but that didn't happen. I need to concentrate more in getting the color and mood and anatomy/pose right before i start on the detail
-The shark took about 1.5 hours and I like the result.
-The nude took about 4 hours and the face was a pain as you can see. Also the color of the skin was difficult to get right.
-The last one was from imagination except for some ref for the hood.

Now that I look at them I see that the reffed drawings came out a bit too light again, I'll have to keep an eye on that in the future
Your enviroments are so lovely!!- they've really come farFor the figures, you could try doing some photo studies completely in black and white to work on getting those values right (I know that for me it's a lot easier to focus on anatomy, value, etc. when I don't have to worry about color!)
Thanks. Yeah, I guess I should start training the black and white figures to improve my values, thanks for the tip
Hello!
Nice Book O'Scribbles!
I'm really digging the lighthouse and the ww1 pic.
But I think the shadows in some of your other pics could be a little darker
(... the selfportrait or the nude woman below the shark)
c you around!

I didn't realize how helpful these black and white value studies from reference really are. I think I learned a lot while drawing these.
Again, the face took most of the time and I didn't quite nail it but I think they turned out fine.

Some value training, comparing BW to color

great to see you are doing studies! Keep 'em up !
here's a few pencil drawings, most of them are studies from anatomy books. I'll try and draw a bone every now and then. I can't access my scanners resolution center at the moment so they came out a bit grainy or maybe its just the pen on paper effect, dunno..

more anatomy. I get these "lost connection" error messages quite often when uploading pictures, it's pretty annoying when you have to write all the copyright etc. stuff again and again.

A referenced picture from a nature film with David Attenborough as a narrator
I think I'll do more of these because this was a lot of fun for me

a perspective study
and also this weeks EOW which I got tired of after trying to correct composition issues caused by underplanning

Here is a landscape I painted using a photo I took for reference. This time I didn't go for a direct copy but tried to use the reference only for guidance.

This is a CHoW that I didn't have time to finish. It could use a lot of polishing and the face needs a remake but maybe I'll stash it somewhere with the rest of the finished/unfinished works

Here's a few CHoWs, the gunslinger from last week and the mecha from this week (might not be the final version yet)

Here's a night scene of a town and I also made some changes to this weeks CHoW.

CHoW final with character sheet!

Great work. Loving the deer and reffed landscape especially. The chow barbarian has kind of a stiff pose, though I wouldn't know how to fix that.
Yeah, it was my first CHoW and I didn't use enough time to get the initial pose right, thanks for checking out my SB!
The main goal was to get some decent texture and mood to the painting and also to play around with perspective. I'm quite pleased with the result even though the composition is crap..

The last update is looking good. The colours you have selected work well to give off a natural feel. Also, I see that you are mixing up your work with digitals and pencil studies. That is a good decision, in my opinion; you should always keep using those pencils.
Keep updating; and do some more studies when you have time (if you want to, of course).![]()
Vritra: I must admit that I have been a bit lazy with the pencil and I will try and fix that and also keep the updates coming, thanks.
Been a long time since last update.. I have been working on a educational game's graphic design the last few months, I might add some finished material later..
So here's some studies and some from imagination
Trying to get skin tone correct
From the movie Alatriste. Cool outfits and images in that one..
