Post Exhibition - Women Of Inspiration

    Hello!
My name is George. I am from Bulgaria! Since I am a member of this site I have started developing my skills and learn from others! These three years in everyday looking at the talented artists who post their works here and mind-blowing paintings just gave me the power to keep on drawing! All my drawings are from my imagination, I don't look from reference.

Here are my graphic drawings made on paper and few of them painted on computer using photoshop! These pieces represented my first independent exhibition in my home town. There are 23 graphite drawings and soon I will post some camera shots !

Thank you for looking and I will really appreciate if some of the big guys give me a critique and other artists from whom I gather inspiration here in the IT'S FINALLY FINISHED section! It means a lot for me...

Anyway, again, thank you for looking and feel free to leave a comment! - G

Well, first off, I really like your composition... these girls ooze feminine grace and charm...

I don't really have too much to crit here; the only thing that stands out is the 3/4 view heads in the first and second pieces. I cant exactly put my finger on it, but it's most obvious for me in the first image, the woman on the left (water?)..and in the second image, the woman on the right. It feels like their eyes aren't along the same line.

Other than that, these are very gorgeous. Nice composition and very subtle coloring. ^_^

xerenity - Your points are right! Really the three\forth view of my faces is problem especially with the line of eyes. I must pay more attention on the faces - the general elements in my drawings. Thank you for the crit I expect more. - G

I really like it when you take your pencil drawings, and add the dark (ink?) to it. Gives a very striking effect. The last piece you posted did this really well, and also miked in the use of hues as well. Very delicate work, I enjoy it.

K-san - Thank you! Most of them are adjusted on photoshop and few of them have a black ink or marker! I don't know how to say it, the thing with wich the teacher writes on the white board in school! Thank you for the comment and I must add that the real drawings don't look exactly the same as these because I changed them a bit with PS CS2!

But in the 2nd picture, the eyes of the girl in the center look non-sense, and her face is also

ArchDesign - Thank you double time! I really felt embarrassed when doing this face. Everytime I was making some changes it was turning very bad! But the eyes are really crossed! I am not a specialist in that but I must exercise more on them! Again thank you, I appreciate it! - G

Hey George, nice drawings. I definitely like the style and details you put into these. All of the costume and ornate designs are sweet. Also, your drawing technique is good...good lines and light in your shadows with hatching. And to have come this far without any school is most impressive.

I must say tho, you will always be limited without reference. You may improve more and more so that you use reference for fewer things, but I guarantee it will improve your work a lot. Now where do you find women wearing ornate headdresses and robes amongst a garden? Well you don't, but the internet can be very helpful in finding most things one piece at a time.

Do you hope to sell these as fine art, or would you like to do book covers or other illustration, or both maybe? I definitely agree with K-San that mentioned the color and ink. Continue experimenting with colorizing your drawings because the greyscale comes off as amateur and unfinished IMO. But the ones with, what looks like photoshop colorizing, such as Water, Light, and Wind look finished and professional.

I really admire your following your dreams and without any schooling no less. Good luck.

Artfix - Thank you very much! I really appreciate your opinion. So please tell my what should I do with my drawing because I am still a student in 10 grade? I haven't got a drawing sold. I am drawing all alone in home and this exhibition was so spontaneous. However, your style is very good I checked the paintings and I especially liked the indian themes and the ancient touch in your style.

SO finally I reveal my face! Ha this is me and my mother. I also post the Cethedral ones again because this time it is with high quality.

P.S. - by the way I don't know the man in the back....

Wow, these are phenomenal! I love the colours and hues you run through the pictures - it just works really really well. It's sort of abstract in a way, but suits the drawings you have applied them too and the way you applied as well.
I love the uncoloured pieces too - I know someone mentioned them being less professional, but B&W can hold its own attraction and you create an amazing array of stroke, render and detail with such a simple tool.

I forgot to add that I love the grace and elegance in your lines, and the overall feel of the images, is different for each one, but fits it exactly.
I hope to see more of your work It's very impressive

    Cool

koinoi - Thank you man! You made my day with this terse comment!

AhkNemet - Thank you for the comment concerning your opinion! I am in opinion that if they are only graphics they do look a bit unfinished - because these are not pieces with a massive use of graphite and they need something more like digital coloring! However thank you!

    Erebus74 - I appreciate it a lot!

    Icon One of these days!

It was the summer holiday, when I drew this request - The Phoenix. A thirty minute "sketch" as I hardly can say that this is a drawing. It came to my mind in a finished state as I initially grabbed the pencil and started putting on the paper some ideas. That's why its' important to have inspiration! Things are done faster in that manner. It is digitally painted using photoshop.

Achilles versus Hector - The second piece of work is on A3 hard paper with a 0.5 graphite (B). The finished drawing is mixed media as I painted it again in photoshop.

If anyone who want some tips should feel free to write me.
Thank you for looking and I will appreciate if someone has any critiques (because I am certain there are, but it will be very helpful if you tell me more)!!!

    - Have a pleasant weekend! - G

Thank you very much for all the kind words guys! This really makes me keep going!

Now I am working on a project you can take a peek at on my sketchook! It will really prick out my eyes with those details, but I love the tiny particles and particularly the robot stuff!

Bravo Georgi! I like your designs a lot. You have a very nice sense for details. My favorites are Lorian and Fares.

However, I think that using references will definitely help you at least for poses that you aren't confident about. For example The Cable Guy looks pretty broken.

Grade 10? you are doing really well, but I will also chime in that you should use reference. There is point where mistakes or things out of place become bad habits. If you draw from life and from photos that you take yourself many of those things will become evident to you.

Thank you very very much! I appreciate your comments a lot!

There is a point where you should use reference! That is when you do not know how to draw something! I like doing studies and after that I continue on drawing my personal works! In my view, its the same like doing your maths exams in school... you can choose to see the solution in the textbook while hiding from the teacher or you can choose to solve the problem your own. What I mean is when you have done your homework you will eventually succeed in drawing from imagination. I confess that I have made mistakes... some of these are very old stuff after all!

Anyway, here is something new! Obviously its inspired by Game of Thrones series!

    Looking good mate!

Detailing and line quality is good, I wish I could see more focus in your works, stronger harder blacks on the main character in the last one would make him stand out more. Use such things to add some depth even though the style you're working in doesn't lend itself very well to that.

Anyways, you're all sorts of awesome, keep it up!
