Damajn, i've been working on some perspective stuff, they are environments, but its more like hard surface stuff like cities and buildings and such, is it okay if i post it here later when i finish ?

You kind of have it reversed, you foreground should be darker and as it progresses to the back, it should get lighter. All of your thumbs have a path way that leads to somewhere but then at the end of that path, you don't have any interesting visual post except in thumb #3. In 3, your mountain on the left is equal size with the skyline and that is not good. Reduce the mountains so that they don't compete with each other.

Nothing wrong with the paths, just put something interesting at the end. Paths are great to guide viewer's eyes however, if there is nothing at the end of that path, then you leave the viewer hanging.

Nice work. I am getting a better sense of aerial perspective than in the previous thumbnails. You have some good shapes and your mountains are reading as mountains so cool work.
Some feedback would be to watch your tangents. Most of your sketches have objects which end right at the end of the canvas. You can either make them break the page or shrink them down a bit. sketch 8 & 9 both have mountains in the foreground and background starting at the exact same spot. As far as the path, try not to make it so straight. Let it wind or sweep through the space. If possible let other objects overlap it. This will add to the depth.
I hope that helps. Cool stuff.

They look detailed... nice, BUT, the first 8 are just wrong, since there is 0 readability on whats in front and whats in the back, remember whats closer to you is gotta be darker and whats farther away from you, must be lighter, just like the last four ( specially the first 2 of that last batch) i dont understand why you didnt do it all like that? o: anyways, keep up the good work.

Yeah I think for some of them I put more thought into it, but for the other ones I just sketched without really thinking about the shapes or depth of the scene. Each thumb took about 10 - 15 minutes. Probably too much time spent on a thumb. Sometimes I like the freedom of just sketching out lines without thinking. Other times I know exactly what I want to do, which is why some are readable and others are not. Thanks for the feedback.

Deyung - Ya sure. we all are learning basics together. Your thumbnails are cool too, piece number 1, 2, 3, and 8 looks pretty good. Others are not bad..you might want to increase value for foreground..like a little bit of black. Thumbnail 4, there is little readability, as though im reading it reversed. Might want to fix that ..Nice work.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah. Probably need a darker foreground. I'm not too sure what you mean by little readability for thumbnail no.4. Could you care to elaborate?

Cool sketch Rem. I hope you don't mind if I point something out. This image seems to be looking down onto the terrain but It seems like you have your vanishing point above the picture plane rather then below. Do you know what I mean ?

Well, isnt that how it is supposed to be? when the horizon line and banishing points are above.. you are looking down onto the picture, when they are below.. you are looking up. Besides.. this is isometric perspective, so i didnt use any banishing points whatsoever, i used the isometric perspective grid.

When we are looking up all of our lines converge to a Vp above us. I'll post some examples for you tonight.

Thanks, that'd be useful, that makes sense, maybe my understanding about VP was wrong, but still, irrelevant to my piece, Still i'd like to see those, so i can finally understand it well.

    3pt Perspective

Ok so I searched on the Net for a decent example. This image has both a worm's eye view and an aerial view. So if you look at the Worm's eye view the VP is above us and the lines are converging to that VP above. Thus giving the impression that we are looking up.

The image on the right has us looking Down on the 3rd vanishing point below us and therefore has the lines converging down towards it.

Let me know if this clears things up. Otherwise I will try to elaborate.

    -Mauricio

Got it, no need to elaborate, soon enough ill get to that in my class.
What i still dont get is why are you teaching me about 3 points perspective, when my piece was isometric? :/

I brought up the issue because of the reason I stated in my 1st post to you.
