Smile first semester project for figure drawing class

This was done in black graphite pencil and is 18x24. I used figures from class and placed them into the composition. I modeled this after mucha and his style!

I like the first one! Great angle for the viewer and interesting pose! You are at the SVA? Do you learn from Matt Archambault? I only saw his youtube Stuff. If yes: Lucky guy! Keep on posting your sketchbook pages! I am looking forward to more like the first picture!

Thank you! and yes! i did learn from him first year and he will be my thesis advisor for my thesis film. I love to draw like the first picture but i am majoring in animation and it is so time consuming I can't draw like that for every frame. I'm just gonna work on photoshop animation for now, but thanks for the comment! oh and ill try to find some old anatomy stuff thats more rendered and post it! :p

Nice figures and I like your trees! Not much to critique except that would be nice to see you use more time on something.

your first peice is generally ok but its pretty flat in allot of areas and the characters arent well defined. work on them values some more.

I watched the ghost animation, real entertaining and the horror features contrasted by the peaceful music brings a nice touch. The old figure drawings you posted have nice line quality but the torsos look too long (I think mainly the stomach area is stretched).
