Hey Tom, I can already see noticeable improvement happening in here. As others have said, seriously keep hacking away at the reading and studying just like your doing. Ive probably learned more from books than most teachers myself. Keep on moving though, eventually your ideas will become more and more fleshed out. I wish I could give more specific advice on things to study, but as in my own case the more I read the more information began to overlap (a process which continues to happen).

Okay il do a nice update for you from today, forget the past stuff theres just to many gestures, il get on it saturday i think. had i night in and did a imaginary A3 sketch page each bit of random strokes to start off then got some nice imagination from closing my eyes for 10 seconds thens veiwing the scribbles again. i also studied some of Dave Finch's work and how he came to do his process in anatomy. Gonna work on some of these later this weekend

I hope to be the best i can be... nothing less

Looking good here Tom! I love seeing your structural studies on the anatomy bits. Definitely a great way to understand the human form from memory. I think that's something that I have a hard time getting control of, but if you do what bpic said and just keep banging away at the books this stuff will fall into habit rather than conscious thought.

Some interesting characters as well. Keep it up!!

Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook. I agree that your studies are coming along. Definitely keep studying from Bridgeman. I've recently started drawing from his book again and it has been really helping me. I would say when you do your studies, maybe after you do them, try to draw your studies from memmory. By doing that, it really makes you think as to how the muscles are put together and how everything fits together in a puzzle. I would also suggest getting an anatomy book by Paul Richter. Drawing from his templates and looking at Bridgeman will really help you. Occasionally, Bridgeman makes mistakes. I actually just noticed one in his book.

As for my animation, that took me about 7 months to make. What college are you going to?

I'm really liking the fluidity of your gestural lines and shading with the pen. As long as your lines keep flowing, life will be good.

    hello mate
You have very nice sketches and lines and you also experiment.
I think you have to keep up improving your drawing and anatomy skills more than pushing yourself in rendering, because these will be easier to be improved later.
just keep up working and experimenting like you do

You know, aside from the drawing themselves, I really like how much personality your sketchbook pages have, with the notes, and the colour accents, and other stuff.
    Nice batch of stuff!

That wall painting is sick! Wish I had the freedom to do that! you've got some great work here. Keep up your bridgeman studies etc, and try tackling some backgrounds / landscapes. Cheers for the feedback on my SB too!
