Traveller of the Void ツ Bringer of the Dawn

Hello, My name is Tom Fenton. I have been drawing ever since i was little and have only just realized how much i can accomplish by setting goals and aspirations. I am 20 and feel life is going much faster. So i thought if i start at full wack and never go back it could be an interesting future to be in. I am absoloutely inspired by Andrew Jones and he is the reason i have joined and want to become an aspiring artist. The Motivation i get now is because i want to create my Mind and share it through vast colours and shapes, creating as Android does, Chaos and Beauty in one realm.
    Thanks Android

    Right then, I will Begin!

By the way, even though these are quicky's i have been using a digital tablet for a year mine is a very small bamboo fun at A5 size and i found the best way to get used to getting mind to hand to screen abilities greater is to use the tablet instead of a mouse, i now feel a bit wierd when using a mouse but i dont play games so thats fine with me

    Tom,

Really like the last concept. Looks like you've got a cool imagination!

I like that you're looking to practice every day. Question, why are you trying to do your studies so fast? They feel a little rushed. I feel you could get a lot more out of them if you slowed down and really -studied- your subject.

You've got great ambition. Keep going!

Hi, so today i thought i would study more painting as i only had a small time to spend on drawing not by choice. but i also managed to fit in some traditional sketches which i will scan in next week. Ok so here is a tiny update from my imagination sketch from the end of day 1

Oooo.. i found some old paintings from last year.

the first one was from a few references slapped together then pretty much traced cus it was one of my first so not very happy with it. However the second took me about 6 hours and i know its not that good but it was my final peice for my BTEC First Diploma course, and i passed smoothly.

thanks wilko yeah, cant wait to finish my final animation. i had the choice of doing 3 different follow on years for my final year before i go to university. my choices were animation, graphics or games design. i chose animation because it is the most work, because u have to do the most drawing meaning my drawing skills would improve a hell of alot more, then if i was in games design. because in the courses last year was the same graphics, animation and games design but games design was not only technical but included concept art, animation did not. so i spoke to the tutors at college and came up with the idea of switching concept art over to animation, for obvious reasons. 1. being that games design was more technical and much more to do with numbers, i thought people in that area would like to focus more on how well they could make the games and put them together. and 2. because animation included vast amounts of time on drawing and life drawing whcih meant that anyone in that part would be learning to draw at a much faster rate, making them ready for concept art if they fancied it.

Cool works! On your studies, try to get the exact colour each time; Don't be afraid to colourpick directly from the photo, if that is gonna make you learn.
Also, good sense of masses in your last works. Keep at it!

Those are some excellent studies that you have there, Tom. Maybe you should diversify the subjects that you study when the opportunity arises.

Woah, I really love all the ideas you have on here and the amount of anatomy studies is impressive
Loving the current monster too. Hmm, Lighting wise I'd say just doodle a sun in one of the corners and lines from that, anything that hits it you make lighter, sorry, I know that's an incredibly basic tip (I'm not too good with lighting myself xD)
Keep up the good work though!
