    Lightbulb I'm gonna learn.....

    Oh...crap..i can't believe i'm doing this...
    Anyway..HELLO WORLD...my name is Zikani...probably the only Malawian here..and am about to shame myself and country with my crap i call "art"...

    I'm completely in LOVE with ART and i'm in awe of all the amazing artists out there...so even though it's not my possible career..unfortunately...i hope through this rash post..i might learn to become better... i'll try to post periodically so you guys can have a little laugh every now and then....
    I would really appreciate critiques (specially harsh ones) to keep me going...

    First step to getting better is to stop treating yourself like a looser Otherwise looks good, try doing more drawings from reference to get a better view of the face proportions

    your drawings remind me of my own in the past, all i can say is keep going and always think logically about where your next stroke should go, thats helped me a lot!

    Hi zikani!

    I checked your sketchbook out after your second post in my sketchbook. I guess the biggest thing i could say to help you out is never get yourself down, if you love art as much as you do; you'll get where you want to go!
    I think your (maybe unintentionally?) stylized faces look great.

    Also a big tip; check out Loomis books (type in google 'save loomis') and practice poses at posemaniacs(.com)

    One more thing : The more you draw, the more you know how to give meaning to your strokes. And even though you might not believe it yourself, you are getting better everytime you draw!

    Keep it up and keep those pencils coming! I wouldn't start digitally until you can get your hands on a tablet.

    Hey, first off, thanks for commenting on my SB.

    Second, you've got some good sketches here, good start! As far as advice on getting better, I agree with what's already been said. You might try slowing your sketch down a bit. By that I mean start a drawing and don't just finish it all in one sitting, take some time to plan it out, put some lines down, and then take a break. Come back to it later and do some more. That might help you avoid misplaced lines and such. Keep it up!

    Hey! You've got not a bad start. For one thing, some of your observational drawings are really good. So I believe your on your way to study the anatomies to perfect your figures? It's good to produce a lot of sketches which look intense in your few posts but like danusllaw said ^ Take time studying your figures and your faces, as it will let you learn the forms better. Keep on experimenting around with the figure studies, and best of all - have fun doing it (;

    thanks for the comments , really like those last studies, I didn't like my tablet at first either, it didn't feel right, but after some time you get used to it

    My advice is take your time with your drawings(like the others seggested) and don't be afraid to use reference. keep drawing and keep posting, cheers

    if you want to improve, make your study as close as you can to exact as the reference, measure it if you have to, don't trace, but get it super super close, get some images of statues, laocoon or bargues and such and copy it almost exact, once you do so, tell me in my sketchbook and ill critique it
