Actually it seems like a pretty impressive output to me! Great to see all the studies and character designs. No crits from me at this point other than encouragement to keep the good work coming!@

bouroune - Thanks man, but I dont think im as productive as it may seem. Last june I was productive :/ . Thanks for the advice, of course your totally right and im working on that. I think its getting better.
    LA-Fairy - Thanks alot
logistic puppet - Thanks so much man. Let me tell you about those movie stills. The thing is, everytime I go to a movie still site, its shite! They only have like 5 shots for the whole movie. And you shouldnt have to pick from that little, youl just be picking the one that looks best from those few. What I do is when Im watching a movie, If a shot strikes me in some way, Il move through it and try and find the best frame, for composition, lighting and the what the characters are doing. I think thats the best way to do. Probably a good Idea to note down the time the shots at and do it after watching the movie
JesseM - Thanks alot Yeah that stuff, that post shows exactly what I love to do in art. So I will definetely be getting back into that. I was just in a slump, so thats why none of those sketches have turned into paintings haha. My plan now is to do alot of sketches and come up with some good stuff and just paint what I like. Refer to logisitcs reply for the movie still thing haha, that was for you too!
ismo - Thanks dude, I just added using the lasso tool to my process and that took care of that haha. Mid to late painting stage is usually when I start thinking about whats sharp and soft. But usually all the soft stuff is already soft, probably habit, like I cant help doing it for myself early on heh. Tmnt pumpkin, that made me lol. It was suppose to be a bull or something!
Wrulf - Thanks man I appreciate that Yeah the trick is just to become obsessed about the little things that interest you. Turns out just thinking about it alot in everyday life helps a shit ton! Yeah man Id really like to see that too haha. The problem is my brain sort of still thinks of painting something that is in front of me and painting some that doesnt exist as two different things, though it feels like slowly there merging. I just have to try to concentrate more!
Aryeh - Thanks man I agree with you. In my mind the only logical advantage to posting alot is to have employers think, he works alot. But that can be a disadvantage in a way too haha.
Jephyr X - Thanks man I certainly feel encouraged now! No excuses at this point haha.
namechange - Thanks alot! Thats just my style I guess, I get bored by doing the same thing too much...

Thanks for all the comments I really appreciate them.

Self portrait, around 1hr40. Did this too make a video for youtube. Il link it as soon as its up. Camtasia takes its sweet fucking time.
Also I dont like how camtasia speeds up videos so I may need another program...

First off got this new painting entitled Swamp Hunter. This was quite challenging but I stuck with it and im happy with the results, I learned alot that Il make sure to employ in future paintings to puch myself even further, Ideally I should start this painting over using everything Ive learned. But I think its better to keep moving rather than redoing the same painting over and over.

Sketches I did while working on swamp hunter.

New Project started. As part of the Crimson Daggers Bloodsports challenge Il be designing a toy from I made up 80s cartoon show and painting the box art for the character I choose. There were three titles to choose from, I went with Legends of Lizards. For info on my made up show about the Reptile Rangers, see below

Not so much a thumbnail, but just brainstorming. After I do a few more smaller color sketches Il do the sketch thumbnails and then the linework and so on.
I like the pose in the second one but the colors in the first.

Study Im working on to get some knowledge on Iguanas before I render.

Realistic projection of what Gecko Gary might look like

    Gesture.

Drew some action poses from comics to help with myself coming up with cool poses.

Face studies I did a while back.

Il just type out my notes on "Legends of Lizards" exactly, for anyone who is actually interested in that haha.

The Reptilian Rangers, who include Ivan Iguana, Gecko Gary, Mindy Mosasaur, Komodo master Ken, and others.
all get their powers from an ancient lizard artifact that connects their world to the human world. Their weakness is which turns them back into normal sized lizards.
The story is set in the lizards dimension, accessed by a group of kids who stumble on the ancient artifact of the human world...
The arch enemy of the Reptile Rangers is Thorny Devil, who is always trying to steal the ancient lizard artifact to try and take over the human world with his Devilish henchmen.
The Reptile Rangers get their counsel from an old master called Komodo master Ken. And anytime the heroes seem to be caught by Thorny Devil or one of his henchmen, who always seem to grab their tails, the Rangers just detach their tail and escape, to later grow their tail back. (this happens like every episode).

DK_sketch - Thanks man, I feel like im advancing too slowly but any progression is good I think.

Fuggedaboudit - Yeah thats who I was thinking of while doing it ^_^, thanks man.

Velocity Kendall - Thanks, I think it comes from the animation training, im inclined to move brush strokes directionally along forms. They way I think about it is, If I dont come back to this brush stroke to clean it up, it will be ok because it describes the form.

I keep forgetting when i link from photobucket i need to resize first. Why is it easier to post on blogger than here! COME ON
