Right now he just looks a little dirty. How can I make him scary?

    SCRUFFINS!!

    Sorry....pet name...

I'd say it is the face that is overwhelming too cute to be scary. Nothing looks rotten or dead, his face looks perfectly fine. He also looks like he/she is sniffin daisys. Make it lust for chipmunk brainz! give it a nastier expression. Take some "chunks" out, all over, make it look like it has...decomposed. It will help overall, with areas of fur as well, to think about the muscle mass under the fuzz layer, and how the fur would reflect that. Right now the body's form looks a bit undefined.

Wishing you the best, I support anything with the word zombie in it. It is a good first pass, now go for the gusto.

    Heheheh - 'Scruffins it is.

I kinda wanted the face to look more sad than scary - the directions were to make an 'infected' dog - so I'm not sure how far into the 'ick' he should be.

Off to add drool, and remove chunks and fur. Thanks!

Where's his right front paw? Has it fallen off? I agree that he's too cute. Right back leg could be placed a tad higher.

    You're right - I couldn't find a logical place where it wouldn't be hidden.

KK - noted for the next one. (I'm out of time on this brief, but I suspect there will be more zombie flavored canines in my near future...)

Consider paling out the pup's eyes to give them that classic milky look. Jaw should be hanging loose as well. Personal preference, though.

Just for some inspiration... Sorry they're kind of little... that's the internet for you! I generally think an animal showing it's teeth loses cute points pretty quickly.
