I was trying to draw from that photo and did a mistake on the head proportions. After that I searched a photo of a shark and I added some shark-like stuff to the figure. If you ever meet this animal under water: swim away as fast as possible

Do you draw these for shocking behaviour or you really like this theme?

Great, I don't want to meet that shark guy . It looks like you have a unique style already which is good I think. There is already some good advice given so keep it up.

Lol, I love your art. Keep pushing it dude!
I like the pregnant woman and the pussy toast best so far. Ehe.
Anyways, some crits: most of these feel rushed, and though drawing only is sound practice to learn structure and anatomy, I suggest you go a bit deeper with tones and forms. Just save up for a couple of grey markers and try to explore shadow and light with those, even two-values studies can be very useful, see here: GurneyJourney entry.
Plus they might stretch your very line-oriented mind (and I understand, 'cause mine is wired that way as well).

    Hey dude, here's a definition from about.com

Definition: Hatching is the use of fine, parallel lines drawn closely together, often rapidly drawn, to create the illusion of shade or texture in a drawing. Distance may be varied to allow more or less white space between the lines, or lineweight varied to thicken the darkness of the lines. Often used in pencil sketching and in pen-and-ink drawing.

What I meant in my comment was that you should try to draw these lines slower, and take a little more time when putting them down so they don't look as messy.

http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...147839&page=11 take a look at some of the drawings near the bottom of that page and you'll see what I mean

hey you have some very interesting drawings i agree with the above posts try and explore the forms of your subjec using shading and such you do a great job of showing your subject with an outline now try and show it using shade and lights and darks that way it apears 3D keep working hard

Maybe if you did some real-life figure or anatomy studies it would help improve your figure skills. Copying porn only really works if you know what you're copying when it's not fucking. Try just sketching people day-to-day, or doing a figure drawing session somewhere of an evening. And if you still want to go back to copying porn after, they'll look better for the effort.

Ariel: Thanks for the crits and the link!

Jasper: Thanks for the definition! I see now, what you meant, but just don't know how to practice hatching. Just by drawing slower? I also don't know how to support the right form with the hatching or cross hatching like in the sketchbook you've linked. Is there a book out or a website which show the hatching (not as a tool) to describe a round form, cube, corners etc.?

prsnsweeney: Thanks for visiting and your comment!

mundanity: It's not the fu**ing I wanted to copy. It's the nude figure group in motion. The life drawing courses here are too expensive, but if you have some links with nice reference photo / free stocks of maybe nude or sport figures, please recommend them here. I'll go on using porn as reference, but it's important to find "unperfect" ref. stocks (instead of drawing only skinny women and men with muscles like a bodybuilder).

So... no nudes in the posting today. But look forward to the next one, hehe.

hey nice post i like the girl in the bottom corner got some nice lines as far as hatching you could try basic exercises like drawing cubes then shade them by drawing straight hatchlines the same direction as the outside edge of the cube the closer together your lines are the darker your values the straighter and thinner your lines are the more subtle your tones can to describe different shapes you have to curve your hatching lines the direction the object is shaped for example an egg must have hatch marks that are curved similar to the contour of the shell ... idk if what im trying to say is comming across clearly or not the best way to practice would be to draw using a pen and study other inked work by masters then practice it in everyday sketches and drawings hoped this helped good luck

thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. Glade you like seeing process work.

If i could suggest something to work on it would be proportion a bit and maybe doing some black and white value studies? Your figures are pretty good so far. I do admit a little weird to look at but hey a figure study is a figure study despite the positions they might take
My observational skills may be great but i said nothing about my drawing skills

Really nice work! I like how you're approaching the figure especially, lots of depth and generally very well studied. Keep at it!

My57: Thanks for re-visiting! I am working with Michael Hampton's book at the moment. I think the value practice is part of it. (wrapping lines around a form) Let's see, if the figures will get better and more interesting to look at.

thank you for your comment on my sketchbook...

Your drawings are nice and I'm agree with p-sage about volumes and the way that wavy lines are not enoughe to draw anatomy. I think you should take care of "important directions" before drawing simple volumes.

    Did you see this?

dessinateurimpulsif: Thanks for your comment. I didn't know the linked thread yet. Honestly: I need practice to see the forms of e.g. shapes, cylinders etc. IN every human form, which I am drawing. As far as you all might have seen in my drawings the describing lines inside the outline are only a help for the shadow parts. These parts aren't really in a nice stadium, but this is the way I am able to communicate the figure to the viewer.

Haha, superb drawing subject. If only there were more people like you, the world would be a different (Better!) place!

I specially like your clean lines, as seen on the bruce rendering. Keep at it man, you're gonna be great!
When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college - that my job was to teach people how to draw.
She stared back at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?"

PrsnSweeney: Thanks! I try to go on that way.

lhazar: Thank you! As soon as I understand the anatomy stuff and morphing for e.g. human bodies with animal heads, I'll give the other ideas a try (which I can't draw today without tons of reference photos).
