Your hatching could use better consistency and variations. I had trouble with that, and that is because I underestimated it. I thought you could just start hatching away for a few minutes and you're done, but better hatching obviously takes a longer time.

What's up man? Long time no see.
Your art journey of awesomeness is continuing I can
see that, and you are a true fighter. You were right,
that pencil legged drawing got me a neat idea, haha,
we should draw with our legs also. Our limits are beyond
the sky. Strike-Zero gave some nice tips there, really great
material. Thank you for sharing your art and that geometrical
reference in #298. Keep it up buddy.

Ludic: The centaur anatomy idea is not finished yet. I'm still working on it and I'm searching for a minimized ripcage-solution at the moment.

Here's another idea inspired by AustenFM: Draw a shape and fill it from imagination:

    That's right!
Make the blood mix up with the sweat,
make the muscles tear apart, you are doing
great, just like a betrayed haunted Indian
    in a borrowed cracked canoe.
Your will can never be broken, and you are working
without an eraser. It's the same thing like a Predator
attacking Scwarzenegger without his mask on.
Some brave things happens lately around here,
    I am so fulfilled.
Great job my friend. Great job.
    Your aura is leveling up,
a bit more of practice and you will
be like Don Johnson in the remake of 'Miami Vice'.

    Hey surus
some lines drawings you done are quite strong , but exampel the portrait in #251 if you hold the image towards a mirror or flip it in photoshop you will be able to see what needs to be adjust easier, but i gotta say there is some intressing angels you've chosen to draw the female body in =P

keep it up and l'll cu in a few ( if not next update! )

The latest life study is very nice! You should complete it, it looks like your weakest point is that you don't have the patience to work on something from start to finish, and dude do I know, it's one of my weaknesses too, but fight it!
Render the rest of that beautiful model as much as you've rendered her yummy boobs! Ehe

Ariel: Procrastinating to finish pieces is not a weakness, if it is a decision. I often thought, I could destroy a piece when I drew hours and I started to draw slow weak lines to avoid any mistake.

Since I draw as long as I want to draw (one piece) and change to another piece as soon as my object gets uninteresting or the flow of drawing has been gone, my understanding of the drawn objects gets better. I really know, that I have special chocolate/favorite parts of the body, which I start to render first (ooops, what could that be...), but it depends on a lack of understanding the "flatland parts" of the body and it's possible showing by hatching with lines. The back and the stomach might be a longer journey for me. Until then I start rendering like the following piece and show you more pictures instead of a very few high end pencils here in my Sketchbook.

Thank you very much to everyone of you! I really appreciate your comments and helpful words, even if I don't start to follow every advice.

To much blah blah - back to pencils:

What up, I think you're starting to get the proportions down a bit better, and like teapo said, the line work is getting really nice too. Just keep pounding out the figure studies. Try to do an extended study, 8+ hours. I think forcing yourself to go beyond is when you really come across those eureka moments. Good stuff.

Hey dude... are you drawing the nude from above and under?

About hatching: I've studied it off and on for years... the easiest way I've found to hatch with a pencil is to move kind of diagonally side to side... your arm is built to pivot from the elbow... so find a comfortable position, turn your paper, and put in the lines. Try to be very precise and calculated at first. Stop at a precise point, and start at a precise point. Don't try and do long hatch lines from the wrist; always move the arm from the shoulder first, then elbow.

Very short lines can be done with the wrist.

Practice making parallel lines like that until you can get the rhythm of it.

If you want to hatch in a different direction, just turn the paper.

Make sure to keep your line weight consistent. Hatch across the form first; only hatch where you need a darker value... don't just assume that shading/hatching will fix a bad drawing.

Make all hatch lines in a single direction first, then go back and do cross directions. Make sure when hatching that each line is parallel to the first line you put in... keep checking as you go.

    Hope these pointers help.

    Cheers,
    Chad

Your abstract drawings always surprise me in a positive way.
I just realized that there is a cut off head of Yuri Gagarin above.
That is just so sick and aWesome. And it is a good thing
that you started studying anatomy, comrade.
