    Graded Wash

I was wondering if it is possible to create a graded wash in Painter 11 using the watercolor brushes (not digital)? I was having trouble doing this.

In traditional watercolors you usually paint a stroke with a loaded brush and dip the brush in water and overlap the stokes. Also does Painter have an equivalent of a brush dipped in water?

    Thanks,

ummm interesting question, i use digital water color, then i dry it and blend it and color again, you will get a similar look than reality.

But the ones you want arent the digital water color but the other nes, but those makes my painter work so slow so i avoid them. I recomend you to mix blenders and digital water colors in grain mode, so you can mix them when drying them, and get the same result.

In traditional you can do all with just one brush, in digital you need a lot of brushes to get same result.
There are no such things as bad art, just tight deadlines.

    Thanks, Elsevilla.

I am using the regular WC because I they seem more like traditional to me. They are difficult because well Watercolors are difficult to master.
The std WCs seem ok on my machine, though the CPU runs at 80-90%. You might try turning off the Enhanced Brush Ghost to improve performance.

I was able to do a flat wash using "Wash Flat 35" with some tweaks and smoothing it out with "Watery Glazing Flat 30" with some tweaks.

I am experimenting on the graded wash and will let you know what I learn. I will try what you suggested as well.

    Thanks,
    John
