    Hey José,
i like your work and your homepage is amazing,
but you said you have been learning for a few years at self study.
How did you start and what was you favorite tool...I'm very interested in this information so you can write me a PM, too, please.

This wolf or this werewolf, I think it is the seconde one, is really cool. Which program have you used. Photoshop? Corel Painter? I don't know...but it looks pretty dangerous ...8)

    Hi CyGear,
well I have to say first that english it's not my lenguage, so please sorry me, I'll tray to explain you but I not sure about how good could be the result jaja..
Ok, the warewolf was made it with phothosp, just the colors or let say the "color-volume", but the draw it self was made it by hand, a mind with pencil and paper, after that I scan the image...blak and withe, and add the color and fine details in photoshop.
My favorite programs to work..for example the mommy that I showing now,was made it with, 3d max,v-ray- z brush for the texture and the details and post porduction with photoshop..just for the filters colors and light efects.
I learn all this programs by my self beacouse, I'm from Argentina, and in my contry there is not too much places to lear all this, and the few of that ones are very expencives, so my pasion to create great images was my first motor to have the corage to leanr..but wasn't easy..I star to lear draw since I had 13 years old, and until now I keep learning...the best think that you can do on this path (I mind "learn by your self path") is ask to another colleague, and show your work to have an profecional opinion, some times this is hard to hear but it's the best think that you can hear...the real opinion...also there is a lot of book and information by free on internet, like books from Andrew Loomis and Burne Hogart, that ones does my firt theachers and I allways come again to tray to learn somethink else.
I hope this could help you, and please ask everinthing that you want to learn and I'll be glad to send you an e-mail with some advices and examples.
Thank for your nice words about my work!! I really apreciate it!

Sory one again for my english!

    Thumbs up Thanks

Yea, english is not my language, too. So we both have a handicap...well.
You think I should go to an artist on my school or someone who could give me his or her own opinion about my work? Well, I hope my teacher are willing to evaluate my picture....some of them haven't enough time, so they say.
Well, I'm really glad about your answer and thanks for your offer....I will revert to it..

Great stuff on your website! It's nice to see a fellow self-taught artist on this site. Your experience in traditional media definitely has a positive influence on your ability to set up a nice 3D rendering

    ...well, my work.
I do not have enough good work, but I am going to update something on my sketchbook I opened yesterday...
So I put the link to it on my signature...

I have another question for you.
Do you use a graphics board?

    CyGear...
yes I use a grapic board sometimes, but it´s not the only thing that I use, beacouse I like to combine the traditional tools with the digital tools...but the graphic boards make everething so much simple that the traditional tools, of course you have to tray everithig and found your favorite tool to work, that change for every artist, in every case is diferent.I feel confortable with that in combination with the traditional pencil and papper.

crit on the site: takes too long to load. art directors are busy and impatient, and I don't think they'll have the patience for this site. you need to grab their attention right away.

I am a writer not an artist and found this site on google by searching... "comic book artists in Los Angeles." I am writing a small instructional manual and want to include illustrated concept characters.
    quick questions...
do i want to have one artist for the characters and one for the layout/printing of the manual or can that be the same person? When listing my job posting what is proper vocabulary to describe the type of artist I am looking for?

    Hi cabbage head.
well that kind of works sometimes are for diferent persons, the concept character desing it's for someone that have skills to drawing and painting (illustrators), and the layout/printing is for graphic designer that on that case the more importan skill to them are the visual comunication with text, logos, icons etc.in some cases the illustrators or conceptdesigners are also graphic designers.
I hope this answer helps you.
