    Nezma's first sketchbook.

Well, here it is. My first ever post on CA. I believe I've been lurking around long enough, time to join the community in um.. art related fun and such. Took me long enough anyways.

    A bit about me:
I'm just your average digital painting novice, trying to improve as much as possible so to one day join the ranks of the greats. And holly crap, there are just so many greats on this site, I can't help but get inspired! I'm an 18 year old Canadian girl and have yet to start my art related studies (although I'll most likely be moving to Montreal next year to study 3D animation/modeling).

And I'm going to stop there before this gets anymore tl;dr.

And yeah, I have absolutely no idea how this site works yet, so if I make a bunch of newb mistakes, well, oops : D
I am now going to attempt to upload a couple of images.

Criticism/feedback is very welcomed and encouraged!

You're not nearly as noob as you think you are. Impressive stuff I'd say pick up an anatomy book if you want to get better with the figure. Do some studies of that and some gestures and you'll be able to make your figures appear more dynamic. Looking forward to more from you

Hi there, not a noob at all!! Rwally good start to your sketchbook so far, the one thing I did notice was that your face on drawings (the red haired lady and the green lady.) looked a bit flat facially, perhaps you need to look a little at your tonal values? get some good shadow in?

Overall though I really like your stuff!

    Good Luck!

Chelli: Thanks! Composition has never been my strong point, but I'm glad you like what you see! Haha, its actually all completely digital. I've been asked that question before, I think its because of the textures I use

Jackpot: Heh, thanks. I have a habit of being really hard on myself, but I find I'm more motivated that way. And yes, I'll be posting a bunch of studies and such soon, anatomy has never been my strong point!

    Icedearth: Thanks! I shall

Eddiee: One of my favs too! Looking forward to hearing more input!

Bluecloud: Thanks, she's actually one of my best friends irl

Trexmaster: That was actually my first ever attempt at painting mountains, glad you like! Although its obvious I don't really get how snow works C:

TheButterBunny: Thanks! Yeah, I gotta work on that for sure, I haven't been doing realism for so long and it shows haha. A year ago I was still drawing anime!

Ok, enough with the old paintings, now I'm going to dive right into studies of anatomy and such. I'll post some stuff up soon

Well, I'm boarding a plane tomorrow, going to be vacationing in Punta Cana for a week! Gooooodbye cold and snowy Canada, I'm going to friggin' bake in the sun for a week 8) So I thought I should update at least once before leaving.

Its a color/lighting experiment, it was really fun to paint!

Crit and feedback would be great!

Your new piece is very nicely done but you could dim down the brightness a little bit. It's kind of hard to see.

Nice update! The lighting you established sets a nice mood but the face needs more contrast. Darkening up the areas where you already have the darker values would help that face pop out a bit. You're doing well though! I tend to be hard on myself as well but I think it's good because it keeps me from becoming complacent which, to me, is one of an artists worst enemies XD Keep it up!
