I've heard and read Jason Manley say something to the effect of: there are artists today that are more successful at drawing and painting realistically from the imagination than ever before in art history. I sincerely hope your admirably humble nature does not make you dismiss this as over-enthusiastic fan-talk when I say that you are a prime example of this. You are a true inspiration to us all. Thank you.

thank you very much for share!
Great work, the atmosphere is so seducing..!
No, I have years of traditional experience with pencil work.
I personally love traditional mediums and would be going full-on oil painting if I had the access to learning how to use it properly.
Thanks for your support!
Thanks Lyle, I appreciate your questions in the education section, Im happy to say that I got to each question, I just wasnt able to be as fancy as I wanted to and mention everyone by name. All ground is covered!
I appreciate your support man, thanks.

Hee hee, thanks!
I really enjoyed working on him, im a sucker for those big-bruiser archetypes.
Hah!
Thanks cstiengart, thats a really kind compliment and exceeding expectations is a big goal of mine.
Im glad you dig it DARYL!
Yeah that arm didnt really read how I intended it to; its supposed to be bent back a bit while her forearm is angled slightly forward. I putzed with it a good while and extending it even a little bit seemed to throw her out of wack - which means something larger is at work and off.
It doesnt hang your eye up but its not 100% correct either - good catch!
Onward and upward as they say - progress not perfection.
EDIT: Lengthened the arm a bit more, still might not be 100% perfect but its better - let me know what you think DARYL.
Thanks!
Thanks all so much for the interest, kind words and insightful critiques - looking forward to this hitting the shelf!
God bless and take care.

wow, that's amazing! I can't wait to watch![]()
Gorgeous stuff dude-it's crazy rendered/painted. Looks like a 3d rendered image.
Cheers
Oh yeah! i really cant express anything else but, that's a totally awesome picture!
waiting in line to watch it!
Thank you for this![]()
Bravo!!![]()
Every time I get back to this thread I love the piece even more. But there's one thing I'd like to comment on. The lady's gun-arm seems a bit stiff. I've been thinking and I think it's partly because the arm, the hand and the gun all go in the same direction, and partly because the sleeve is the same width all the way down, and then the hand and the gun are more or less equally wide too. I realize that in the pose you're going for you would have a straight arm on the back swing like that, but compared to the other arm (which works great) this one feels a bit weak.

Thank you very much!
Oh, theres plenty to crit, having some time away from it allows me to see things that could have been decribed better. Im glad you like all the little goodies I put in there!
Thanks!
Serpian, thank you.
Its a dream come true to have artists say stuff like that to you, its something ill always want to hear and when I do I never quite believe im hearing it - hee hee!
Its not a matter of trying to stay humble and grounded that makes me dispute amazing compliments like yours, Serpian; its more a matter of knowing that the end result will always fall short of what I want to see.
It will never look real enough for me.
The ultimate goal is to make the distance between what I want to see and what I produce non-existent; to make the unreal as real as possible; to surpass even 3D, so you almost think it moved.
Its an obsession quite frankly, one that some days im not very realistic about, but for the most part its the trying that is the most fun and most educational.
So while Im very grateful for your kind words, I see only how I can improve and how I currently fall short. There have been a few times that ive unknowingly rested on my laurels and it felt like catching myself being asleep at the wheel; horror.
Hahaha that sounds so melodramatic but its really true, im a simple man - I just want to be the best artist I can be and am afraid of not trying.
Thank you all for taking the time to comment!
God bless and take care of yourselves,
Brad
the anticipation for this download is high on my list of things to get. looks outstanding. ;]

This looks like it's a movie, like Ghostbusters 2014 or some crazy mutant sewar dwellars.
The sneak peek was great, the Slayer bikini really got me. Then I saw her face and bald head, uuugghh that really knocked me over. Can't wait to buy the video.

thanks so much for your effort and art man!

Andi
Sweet!
Thank you for the support, artmessiah! The cool thing is your not just helping support me but this place as well, and that means just as much to me.
Im glad you like the work and im really happy you got a cut-scene feel - thats exactly what im going for with my personal work and ideally my commercial work - if im afforded breathing room that is.
Jason thank you so much, your encouragement and praise really mean a lot to me.
Best wishes,
Brad
Its a pleasure and a privilege my man.

Thanks very much steven6
Im only able to offer it thanks to this place.
Im so glad you dig the work - thank you.
Thank you sir!
Thanks for the crit serpian!
Yeah, that arm didnt really translate as successfully as I had hoped. Generally as a rule if my eye doesnt get hung up on something then I dont fiddle with it too much and make changes within a few weeks of it being finished if need be - and that was the case here.
I made a few changes to it like lengthening it, but it simply isnt perfect, its more than likely not in the exact position it should be in and maybe a little short?
I had to improvise since I couldnt find a photo that matched it exactly, I gather reference after I compose and even then I dont keep it open while I work, I practice to it then start from scratch and try and recall it for the actual piece, except in the case of commercial work where ill look at a photo open while I work.
Ill probably spot how its off in about a year from now when my skills and critical eye (hopefully) progress.
Until then its another lesson learned and upward I go!
Thanks all so much for taking the time to comment, until next time!
God bless and take care,
Brad
im drowning in anticipation man!!
great awesome work
Im very excited about it too, thanks so much for the support, Matt!
Thanks man! Itll be released soon!
Ok!
That means a lot coming from a talent like you, Andy! I really enjoy your work - you got it all; rock-solid concepts that dont rely on over-the-top gimmicks, original and polished excecution, really sweet compositions and dynamic poses!
I always look forward to you releasing work and you taking the time to comment on mine means a lot to me.
Best wishes to you and yours,
Brad
Im grateful you think so - thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
Hee hee, thank you zeal!
I giggled at the teaser a bit because it was intentionally misleading and quite honestly, short skirts and dollar bills; sex always draws attention.
I very much appreciate your support because it not only supports me but this place, and this place is a fundamental part of my growth.
All the best to you,
Brad
Ill do my damndest!
Im grateful for the support and compliments, I hope the tutorial provides something useful for you!
Thanks Andi!
Practice is how, making failure after failure is how.
I dont intentionally fail, but I almost look forward to it because I always learn something. There were a lot of failures on this one and solving a lot of them got me walking away with some valuable real estate I can invest in.
For instance; the lead character was an enormous amount of trouble, she stays broken for most of the tutorial until the very end when I finally get the guts to tackle it. What I walked away with after doing this was a big reminder to be more patient with the intial sketch and just dont throw myself to the wolves every time. The irony is I spent close to 200 hours creating this work and I hack and slash my way through the initial sketch, which I spend a lot of the tutorial correcting.
The difficulty in implementing that is the exact crux of the question you pose: how to balance spontantious creation with rendering the life out of everything.
I rely on chaos to build the initial sketch to some degree, so balancing that to get a more productive workflow is the challenge ill be facing ahead; and that became a glaring epiphany on this one.
Take care and thanks again
Me too and thanks so much for your enthusiam Dekal!
Thank you so much devilsown!
Looking forward to this baby hitting the shelves, not long now!
Deep, deep thanks for all the interest and comments, gang!
Be safe!
Brad
