my first WIP for the absolutely awesome CHoW #227 The four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

its the first rider, the "King of all Kings" ( or Conquest ) ...very rough sketch (meaning that there are many anatomical issues to fix concerning the rider himself) ATM missing the caparison made out of collected crowns...

ArghosRo: yes started with this sketch-book to paint digitally ( next step will be to learn to draw with oil and charcoal, will upload some of these things + some anatomical studies made with pencil as far as I scanned them) so everything you see here is everything I have drawn so far ^^, and many many thanks for your kind words !

as I promised some Details ( they might look like having few details, but this is due to the size and composition of the whole picture, adding further details would make it look edgy)

    1. A detail of the Head with the mask

    2. Detail of the Head of the mount

    3. the breastplate of the horse

    4. the crowns he collected from the sovereigns of the world as beeing the King of all Kings

so here is my ( for the moment ) final of the King of all Kings, I will start now to work on Death , had the idea of him having a large throne that is carried around by a huge mass of skeletons, instead of having a horse.

the second pic is a quick color study

progress on death trying to make him look like a sublime killer, thats why I gave him a pair of sickles (more slit, slit) instead of a huge Scythe ( which is more like hacking around )

First Idea for famine will be : A little, crippled half mummified, smoldering guy standing on a huge Scale ( much like a giant siege tower ), he will be on the one side of the scale demanding to balance his weight, but what the mandkind doesnt know is that every single ounce put on the other side of the scale makes him exactly that much heavier, so its impossible to balance the scale because he will be allways heavier at the minimum of his own personal weight ....and thats how he causes famine...

And War will ride a chariot, drawn by some supernatural beeings not yet disclosed

useless in which way? your post isnt very helpful at all ^^ and by the way why do you use a racist nummerical sequence ? 1488 stands for the 14 Words of David Eden Lane and 88 ...meh you know I wont write that in my SB ...so either you are a fucked up racist scumbag or you did by chance choose a very very akward number ....I have to say that i tend to the first one...because that would be a hell of a coincidence ! but if I am wrong my apologies to you !

yeah I know they look a bit flat , actually I am puzzled because I use the whole colorspectrum its pretty much from black to white (in some spots) actually I dont have a clue why it looks so pale, but I`ll try to manage that somehow, advice appreciated

Hey that red marble is looking sick! I also like the sense of atmosphere and emotion your paintings have. There's something "inviting" about the way they are done.

I'm actually trying to develop an awareness like that in my paintings. I have a long way to go. But here is something in one of them that really stood out to me...

I'm not a "critic" per Se, so I don't currently have any tips on how to improve it. But I hope you get what I mean by depth and realism. There's a cool factor here too. "If it were possible, it would look like this" kind of thing.

I like that. Anyway, keep it up bro!

Great work! Your use of textures is really great. I love the armor on the horse in your knight pic. The level of detail is really striking.
