-D_art-: thanks!glad you like her!
Ricardo Robles: thanks friend! glad you like that dude! trying to start a comic project with him x)
sooo, here is the lifedrawings from sunday, and no animation, and in all my procrastination glory i got the urge to start a testpage for a comic project i really wanna start seriously with next year...
always felt bit awkward showing the few comic pages i done over the years since i feel i dont know what im doing but hey, i cant learn if im not getting any feedback, so here is one D: *runs and hides*
uhm the lifedrawings is bad, i had a really bad day that day, i was just not in the game at all, and that was probably my last lifedrawing class for the year! i been so spoiled having regular lifedrawing classes for a whole year i dont want to go back home! hard to get lifedrawing classes there
uff yeh, 3 more days then school is over! cant believe how fast a year can go by D:
actually i like your last life drawings... i would be very happy if i get this kind of results in such short poses...
your life drawing improved so much! How's the animation course in VFS? Would you recommend it?
Agreed with the above, I love your lifedrawings. (I've always been totally jealous of the way animators lifedraw. D: ) They've got a great sense of both flow and form.
The comic page is interesting... honestly, I think it'd be much stronger with more traditional panels/speech bubbles, the speech bubbles especially. It's such common visual language that messing around with it tends to detract from the storytelling rather than add to it. The style you have there... it's not bad on this page, but I imagine in a panel with more than one character saying more than one thing, it'd get very confusing very quickly.
Completely random, unhelpful note: the way you colour with flats (on those character pictures) reminds me of this guy I know. Something about the shadow colours.
Bad? Well you may have your own standards but to me, your life drawings are great. I love them, I totally copy them then I try to draw them in a different way and from memory, I'm at the point when I feel I can do a breakthrough at figure drawing and if it really happens (I'm totally optimistic), your drawings will have an important factor in it.
It's good there's a different body shape I tend to see and draw (I watch way too many anime)Thanks for those drawings, seriously. I look up to you

Really loving those life drawings, I need to get back into drawing figures again.![]()
Hi again,
I always notice how loose your figures feel...their poses are natural and fluid. Something so many of us struggle with.
It's great to see all your cartoony work and that you balance that with life studies.
You asked a page ago for advice on your portfolio page...so if yer still looking: IMO you have a good sampling of your efforts but I do think some "long pose" pieces would be very appropriate. Some work showing form, value, and lighting beyond gestures would be appropriate.
The panel above is pretty cool and I enjoy seeing your color scheme work. The extra features in the DVD for The Incredibles has a section on their color studies for the film and I know it's something I could really work on myself!

Great figure studies man, really.
On that last one comic, maybe try to avoid those black outlines and see how it works.
Keep up

daflom: thank you!
Nerferinn: thanks! the course is really great, ofc; alot of work, phew... but i have learned so much and it was quite bit more than i had expected, so im happy and i would really recommend it!
Revidescent: thanks so much for the feedbackwanted to experiment but i understand the speechbubble thing, i will just go for something more "normal" instead.
and wow, thats cool, i just recently found that guy on deviantart and totally love it!
shiNIN: oh wow thanks for the big words D: glad i can be of some help to someone ^^ and im sorry if i seemed like an ass, i didnt mean it that way, what i ment with bad was the feeling when i drew, i just had trouble keeping up withing the timelimit and was struggling and didnt feel like i got quite "got it" the same way i usually do, but hey, i guess struggling is a good sign of learning right!
jacilynw84: thank you! you should definetly do that
Jephyr X: hey there!thanks for the feedback on the portfolio! will start working on that soon! and thanks for the advice, i will definetly look up the dvd, i really should dig more properly into color studies
knut-: thank youand do you mean the lineart? thats something i want to keep for the style, altho i definelty need to work on my line quality more
phew you guys, thanks so much for stopping byand sorry for not having much to show, just felt like showing im still doing something!
graduation on friday, im superexcited mixed with being nervous and sad for leaving this place and all the friends i got here!

Congrats on the graduation!!!! Sad to hear you leave, vancouver really is a beautiful city.
Im really liking the last two characters. The rendering style on the last is a bit different than your usual stuff... and im not sure if I like it, but meh, its still really cool.
Dont stop doing art once you move home, and keep this thread updated as much as you do. I know it can be hard once you leave school as that is a MASSIVE source of inspiration.
Take care!
Jeff

hellu again! have to hop off to a bday party now so promise to reply next time!
meanwhile i would love some crits on these before i finish them, strugle with some parts of anatomy, esp hands on both of them, and the feet on the girl lying down
but also anything else you think i can improve before trying to ink these x)
![]()
Nice fluidity! Yeah hands and feet are such a pain to draw right (feet, especially). You could always try posing yourself in the mirror (and hope nobody walks in lol) Looking forward to seeing those inked!
