    ☆☆☆☆☆†.Wint∑r Is Coming.†☆☆☆☆☆ //Daniel Tillers Sketchbook//

Ok well i started a sketchbook last year but i thought i needed a new start. Somewhere to post only recent work.

I'm pretty new to working digitally in terms of painting (only 12 months or so)

I currently work in Visual Effects ( film) but am looking to move into concept art as a full time occupation. I thought I would use this sketchbook to map out my progress as I attempt to put a decent portfolio together.

I graduated in 2003 with an illustration degree but pretty much neglected my artwork for a couple of years (except for a few tour posters i did for bands).
Now i'm looking to really knuckle down and land my dream job as a concept artist.

PLEASE GO TO THE BACK PAGES FOR MORE RECENT WORK.

Two digital pics above it looks solid too, really cool colours on the first one and the second one looks like a photo almost. =O

I must say your works are very good. I love this landscape you did (and the others above it) the sense of realism is almost overpowering.

Nice sketchbook you have here. I especially like this landscape:
    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1263144271
    The colours are beautiful.
Keep up drawing in general, I would like to see some more quick sketches. Quite often they are the ones that show what you should focus to improve on.
Nice monkey, you should finish it.
Loving it though, keep on drawing.

The best thing i have learned with photoshop is to work big with large blocks of general color and/or value. Then save the details for last. And use a hard brush because its easier to go back and soften edges later. You can set the brush to have opacity that is responsive to pen pressure, aswell as size (although i suggest a big chunky square brush of uniform size).

Anyways, check out Randis Albion's videos, or perhaps Daarken's. They both offer great advice.

Yeah i know i really should block in all the colour first but im just a sucker for getting stuck into the most detailed areas. I guess thats the part i enjoy the most.

Will check out those videos though!

Love the chimp drawing. Biro is fantastic for those kinds of varying textures. Your sense of colour in the two landscape drawings is also good. The second has a very nice gradient towards the horizon.

Keep em coming And ty for visiting my sketchbook too.

pretty nice , but that Mash-up of pictures with the girl and jelly fish -- don't stretch pictures it makes things looks unrealistic and people will tell right away -- when ever something looks off that's were the eye races too and focuses on. but i know your still working on it , keep up the good work.

It looks promising; though I would agree that you could at least block the the colours out a bit better before you focus on the face on the latest

    Now Finish it ~
