The way you break down forms (especially your hand/arm sketches) is so inspiring. Wow!

    And wonderful use of colour.

    Yummy.
    Great anatomy studies.
Three dimensionality is so great in them.
You will learn a lot from them.

Little standart suggestions is to do a few still lifes too between them.

    Keep it up!

PS: Thanks for commenting my sketchbook ;>

I like the way you leave some rough brushstrokes in your studies, makes em very lively and interesting to look at

Thanks for your cast suggestions! Been doing a few and they've been really helpful

Really digging the anatomy studies, good stuff!

It's nearly 3 months and you said you wouldn't take that long to update again.

Much better on the head, but still not up to your other work.

Your still lifes are really beautiful; I especially like the blue vase painting in post #115. The textures you're applying definitely give your work a uniquely tactile look. I do think you should apply them with a tad more reservation though; sometimes it comes off as a bit distracting, particularly when applied to background elements that would be best not calling attention away from the focus of the piece. In the pinocchio painting, for example, the texture on the wall in the back is a bit distracting, and it makes the image look over-sharpened. And this might just be personal taste, but I think the texture would be a bit more impressive if it were only used more sparingly (kind of like how highlights and highly saturated colors lose their value when they're overused in an image). Anyway, keep up the good work; I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll be up to next

For the few souls still visiting this thing - I’m finally back.
Last year was quite busy with school work and other stuff and because of that did very little painting, but this summer I'm planing to
change all that and start posting at least some what regularly, so yay for me...

Aryeh- Thanks man. Yeah darks are a problem for me, not only in color works, but also in grayscale, especially when drawing with pencils.
That's why I started doing theses grayscale studies, hopefully they will help push my darks.

Rain Walker – Thank you for the kind words, everything in this sketchbook except few pencil drawings is digital, but I also paint with oils.
I just don't have a decent camera right now and honestly my oil painting aren't that good to begin with.

Farvus – Thank you for checking out my works. I'm definitely a bit stuck doing studies and not enough personal work. I don't post most
of my personal stuff because I have a very hard time finishing it, plus I'm always disappointed with the result, but I'm gonna try to change that.

Lii-chan – Thanks, glad to hear that.

Pixelwalker – Thank you. Yeah, I need to star doing still life painting again, I really enjoyed it.

Teundeboer – Thanks, I like when paintings aren't super polished and have visible brush strokes. Like you said it makes the look very lively.

Kvenh – Glad to help out.

Black Spot Took my sweet time didn't I. That head is bit of mess now that I look at it.

Vatteh – Thank you, definitely give cast painting a try.

Tokotewhero – Thanks man, need to work on that keeping up part.

Dierat – Thank you for the kid words, I completely agree about the use of textures. I tend to go overboard with them, thus making my
paintings a big mess. Need to work on that.

BlackDelphin – Thank's for the kind words as always.

To kick things of some Bargue studies. I'm kinda happy with how the foot turned out, hands could used some work tho, but right now I have
spent so much time working on them that I can't bring my self to work on them anymore.

And because I don't have anything else decent to post - a really old/unfinished still life.

Great job on these studies, I want to work on my anatomy and form now XD
Thanks for the comment! I don't know much about painting but I think maybe your strokes would look better if they went across the form rather than with it

Love the bargue studies. It'd be cool to see them more finished, but I totally understand how you feel. Whenever I'm doing a really tedious study, at some point I start to wonder whether I'm still working on it because I have more to learn from it or just so I can have a pretty picture, you know. Anyway welcome back and I hope you'll start posting more often! ^^

Awesome. I love the little bit of texture; it really adds to the piece and doesn't distract. Only crit I can think of is that it might help to, at the very end, pinpoint the points of lightest lights and darkest darks and add a touch of near-white and near-black to those one or two spots to push the value just a bit more. Keep posting!
