A new thread for a new decade!
Recently I did some digital landscape quickies and many more sketches referenced from PoseManiacs.com. Stay tuned for more to come!

Ok, you've got an understanding of the space the forms fill.
But I think its time to move on from this technique and try rendering bodies using planes. Anatomy will really help you with this.
Breaking the body down into spheres and tubes is good at first, but drawing the muscle planes and true structures underneath this "bubble" if you will, might help bring your characters to life.
So yeah, reach for the Bridgman, get some anatomy knowledge. I'm doing this at the moment too. The human body is an amazing organic machine.
Also stay with the posemaniacs, I use 45 sec as warm ups.
Keep at it!

PoseManiacs probably isn't the best to start with. I would check out something such as Vilppu, which explains the figure from the ground up, starting with gesture, then going into basic forms.
In the first two colored digital paintings, I saw that you pretty much understand lighting and light hitting planes, so perhaps you should try to work on moving away from the default spraycan brushes and color choice. You are doing really great with anantomy, just keep practicing!! Don't worry, you're doing really well.![]()
