a small update, faces still give me a bit of trouble,
more updates
that hand in the second picture looks insane! keep it up!
another small update
Yeah learning art can be hard without a formal education! Something I want to point out with regards to your faces is the proportions and structure. It looks like you are pasting facial features on without relating them to the underlying structure of the skill. For example in your older drawings you placed the eyes way too high up on the face and in one of the more recent drawing the chin is too long. I"m not sure if you heard about it, but there's a book by Andrew Loomis called "Drawing the Heads and Hands" which I discovered on this forum which explains drawing heads so you might want to look into it. In the meantime remember the structure of the skull influences the placement of the features on the face. It's kind of hard to give a critique since I have the same problem sometimes and I might be a bit confusing, but hopefully it helps in some way. Just keep drawing and learning and eventually it'll become easier.![]()
Thanks Rickys! I did a quick skull study and saw a few things that I was doing wrong. Here are the results, I'll be doing more.![]()
Another update, this one took me a while![]()
I'd never thought I'd say something like this, but why not look at manga and assorted comics for some ideas on how the human body would be put together? Hell, 's what I did and I didn't turn out too badly, right?

Rule #1 of depicting soldiers: KEEP THE DAMN FINGER OFF THE DAMN TRIGGER.
Well, the one above is done without refrence. I'm working on it again after posting a copy in the crits section of the website. The re-do should look much better.
Hey! I have been neglecting my SB for a while,![]()
今多いよ! As you can see I need to learn how to render!
Another update. I might come back to this one and clean it up, but for now I'm going to move onto another project, kinda burnt out on this one for now.
For reasons unknown, I decited to try my hand at 3d sculpt, Just because it looked fun really,
Interesting work on the "3D" gun , especially the one at the bottom right.
For anatomy and bodies, I'd say that it's better to concentrate on the lines first: don't try to put directly colors, usually it takes time, and you focus less on the lines.
First of all, work the anatomy, the lines, and when you think you're good enough with that and don't do too many mistakes, you can start thinking about the color. You'll see, it will be easier.
Thanks Evolana!
I finally got myself a copy of bridgemans, so I'll be kicking it up a notch,Thanks for the crit!
Here we go. I just kinda wanted to move on, so I just played with the torso and left it at that![]()
these look promising man, just keep em coming!
at this stage, the important thing is to make drawing a daily habit..like breathing.

-Thanks!

@the ANGRY filipino: Thanks for the encouragement man!
Very good so far, it's going back a little but i like the weapon design you have in there, keep up the great work, i can't wait to see more.
@Icedearth15876 Here we go! hopefully with this next one finished I can help that problem![]()
I'm gonna look at some enviorments, and try to get this one grounded better. But I made to many problems for myself allready by not have an interesting enough geometry to begin with. So I'll do what I can with this one, enviorment, ETC, and move on.
Ok guys, my latest attempt. I dare say I'm getting better! More to come in the future!
Wow, its been a while eh? I have blipped out and stoped doing art for a while. Recentley I bought some new audio equipment and discoverd that I quite like audio a lot more than visual art.
It is refreshing. I don't beat myself up about not drawing as much, and just soak up the feeling of acomplishment everytime I forget to eat or take a shower because I was busy messing with my sounds. So now I just draw for fun whenever I feel like it. I'll keep posting here, I always want to keep inproveing, but for now I'm just gonna see how this goes. Anyway, thanks for checking this out and crits are always welcome.
This is my last full color attempt that I am going to do for a while. After this I'm sticking to graytone and moleskin sketches, that I am becomeing quite addicted to as well, even if they seem strange even to me (and I drew them).
-Cheers.
