A bit behind but still crackin!!!
Here's what I came up with today. For The Star....Hippy chick. With big hair. Since the Star represents Aquarius we are meant to be free spirit and all that shit. Flowing clothes and flowing hair. Ribbons and dangly jewelry. Layers and floaty fabrics with frilly bra showing through. Boho.


Another possible pose but I dont have the clothes on this one

Her head's a little big on the sketch. And the things on her fingers are little finger cymbals.

Two idea for King of Swords

1. The aging scholar. Since the King's new interest is learning. Cold, clinical. But learning.

2. Same idea but with an Arthorian-fantasy approach

Haven't taken a look at the Empress at all yet. Going to focus on getting a semi-final sketch together for Two of Swords so we can at least get that one moving towards completion.

Hope to get this sketch mostly finished. Than inked. Still haven't decided on where to ink or how. Grumpety grump. May wait to hear back from you concerning vector v. photoshop

Great stuff!! Love it! Like the new pose on the Star. But can we have it more languid and dreamlike? Like she's in a sort of dreamy trance?
I did another sketch And put in your ideas of making the dress turn into flowers and the stars in her hair (way cool).



Loving the Chinese dresses btw. I was thinking (as I said in my pm ) about doing a contrast sort of thing. Lots of details and patterns done with the vector like jewelry and say the belts of the Chinese dresses....with the skin and soft fabrics and parts of the hair done in Painter.

I like the idea of the scholar king. He reminds me of Harrison Ford! Maybe we could have him in a pose similar to The Thinker?

I'll take another stab at the star.
Also might try a meditative pose although I need to check my ref sheet to make sure this is even a plausible option. For trance, may ref. contemporary dancers.

Already had the Thinker in mind. He's going to be on of the bookends on the shelf. In the BG. Can we make one of our other goals this weekend Color Comps so we've got the color figured out which will hopefully allow us to work on our bits and pieces simultaneously?

Also, can you do the 'preserve transparency' trick in Painter so that we have the option to do a gradient on the line? Will probably bring the line into Flash since I know I can get a very clean line and also very easily make a more 'painterly' variant without re-drawing anything. Will also in all likelihood export each element to its own layer to make life just a little bit easier - so figure, bg, bits and pieces.

Either today or tomorrow will hopefully have the line on the 2 of Swords done so we can also dabble with how we're going to marry the Vector/Rendered elements.

Hurray. Now back to drawing!

I'm good for colour too!
If you send me over any completed linework I can start doing some colour roughs. PSD files are good for both of us right?
I'll keep my CA and Google Wave windows open all weekend so I dont miss anything!

Details from King of Swords

Man. Forgot how long this stuff takes sometimes.
In all likelihood, will finish putting in the details than take the figure into either PS or Painter than composite in. We'll see. Depends on time.

Cider festival tomorrow. But home in the afternoon/evening. And I'm not big into drinking (I go for the music), so work should not be impaired by sloshedness...and yeah.
