    Winter

Lame theme but I am finding myself uninspired lately. The snowstorm we're getting must be influencing this piece LOL! (I also posted this wip in my sketchbook thread)

This is the first time I've attempted to render in black and white in an effort to get the values correct. Rip her apart please, so I can get better.

Good start. Watch the transition at the top of the nose into the skull its a little soft there and the jawline as it wraps around is too crisp

I'd invest some more time in learning nose and lip anatomy.

A great way to practice grayscale is to do some studies of grayscale photos and paintings. A really great exercise is to do some life paintings of simple objects in grayscale - it'll help train your eye to see the values of various colors.

I'm calling it done. I've learned a lot from this piece, and I'm ready for my next lesson Always more to learn and maybe I'll revisit Miss Winter here someday!

p.s. Gee, I wonder whose lips I referenced... LOL
