Hello again, long time no see- but I see some great improvements in your sketchbook.

Those hand studies are bloody brilliant, and I liked the sculptures.

Try to neaten the linework on your other things, it looks like you took loads of care and time into the hands, why not translate that new found understanding of form onto your figures/faces now?

Anyways, you're a hard worker and already it's reaping benefits. Just keep at it.

I would highly highly recommend doing what I did a few weeks ago. For 7 days don't let yourself draw anything from online or photograph sources - ONLY from life. This forces you to draw quite everyday objects and really gets you learning those values from life.

It helped me loooads and I switched in a week from drawing mostly from photo to drawing almost entirely from life for good.

Nude model quickies from real life, first three is coal, the other two is pastel. Made like 35 of these but I dont have time to upload all haha. Now its time to draw hands again, see ya later ppl.

hi there, nice figure studies, the last pieces are getting much better. just try to keep the highlights in the right point, trying to not use too much bright colors. Take a look at the ambient around (ot imagine it if the image is from mind) and set the maximum light focus and where it is coming from. Normally the more bright zones are under this maximum point.

You know what, in a few weeks we will have three weeks off from school to practice on drawing something we really want to be better at, maybe I can draw real life things all those three weeks. I will try to draw more from life overall too, great tip. But sometimes u wanna draw ppl and such and u dont have a model around all the time. take care

Yesterday I did around 6 hours of hand studies, mostly from Hogarth book about hands but I also drew my friends hands. Though that was insanely hard, will need to do it alot more!

the last three is from life the other is from Hogarth.

Now Im off to school to draw even more hands

allright inbetween all hands I am doing a portrait of a famous character from a tv show, anyone see who it is? It is not nearly finished, worked on it for 40 min right now. Need to start layng down some serious shadows

the mouth is hard, think it has some problems but I dont know what. ?

Well no pics today, my memory card for the camera has magically disappeared, but Ill try solve it until tomorrow Has some more hands to show u that I drew off my friend and one piece that was my last, two hands holding each other that I worked on for about 8 hours, so stay tuned.

Bethany- thanks, I did alot of hands haha. It was work for school and we had to choose something and mine was hands. But now that its over Ill try to take another body part, thinking its good to use alot of time only drawing a single thing. Really learned alot about hands those weeks. so thx for the tip and Im thinking arms now or feet.

this is the last pics of hands I did last week, they are drawn from my friends hand, really fast poses so it was hard. My last hand work for that session hasnt been captured on photo yet but I will get that tomorrow to show u. I hope u will like it cause I worked on it alot, so hold your horses.

that one with more shadows, next last, was my own hand, know it looks horrbile but dude was it hard to draw from that perspective.

well tomorrow ull get a major croquie post and the hands that I worked on for almost 2 days so I hope ur excited

Try to break them down into simple forms just to remember the forms better.
It will help you doing these things from imagination.

Allright so this was my last work for the hand weeks I had, they have around 8 hours of work behind it, I have used mostly mech pens and it is drawn on an a3 160g paper. It started out as a woman and a man but as I went the womans hand looked more and more manly so I guess it is 2 mens hands now. thinking this is kind of fun cause its not that traditionally as a picture. One hand has some problems I know but overall Im happy with the result. Hope u like it.

great hand studies man. You are definitely making huge improvements and things like life studies like this are really boosting that.

No crits fom me, you seem to be doing all the right things.

well... maybe just one. You could try introducing a few more broken lines into your hand studies if possible. This would give them more depth and form. Complete outlines generally flatten out when viewed, so try and avoid a continuous line around the outside of any drawing. Particularly as these "outlines" don't exist in the real world, and are constructed entirely for the purpose of representing something in a drawing.

Anyway, its looking great so keep it up!

alright heres a little selection of pics from last weeks croquie, life model with very short poses! they are done with ink, charcoal or with a red crayon lid. Did a huge amount of these this saturday too but the sun hasnt come up so I cant get any decent pics just yet. Just wanna thank u all for posting here, make me wanna draw more and show u guys, really helping me!

forgot this, think i showed u the legs before. But, yesterday I switched them upside down, now its a glass full of women's legs haha. I know im fucked up this is a long time project so hope u like the progress.

I know the perspective on the tables are not great, but that dont matter cause this is not a study this is a try at art. All of the things in this pic are from imagination so far. I have used oils and charcoal.
