Hey everybody, first time poster here. I just finished a digital painting course, and this was my fist time using photoshop for things other than photos. (Not trying to use this as a disclaimer.)

I would love to hear any opinions or suggestions for both the painting and the concept. Thanks ^_^

Three suggestions. One, work on the hands, they look very awkwardly placed and stiff, you'll benefit with a reference here.

Two, think about that light source. Right now it looks like an action figure descending from a desk lamp. Is the light source natural or artificial? What time of day is it/what type of light?

And thirdly, adding a few cooler colours will give this piece a real cavey feel, Make the highlights warm colours and the shadows cooler.

I played around with the layer settings in GIMP. I added an opaque turquoise layer and found that overlay and burn both gave interesting effects that you could look at.

foxtrot, nice light. and yeah, use reference, also, forearms are too long. Thighs are short.
