Portraiture - tips on capturing likeness?

I am interested in painting portraits at the moment ... hoping to get some feedback and advice on how to improve at capturing a likeness with particular reference to this work?

    Thanks!!

PS: I'm new here, how do I get a thumbnail pic to show in the forum to the left of my post?

Holy shit! Real life anime eyes! Okay, kidding aside, blend it up a bit and check your anatomy against the actual source. As it is, there are noticeable divergences where you've stopped actually painting the subject and went on a tangent.

Stay away from webcam pics/snapshots. What you're working from has a double whammy of both extreme lens distortion and flat flash lighting.

I'm no wiz at portraiture myself, but definitely look at the relationship between the model/photo's nose and mouth. In your drawing you've distorted the noses' shape quite a bit and moved the mouth down on the face. There's also a noticeable difference in the shape of the model's right brow.
