Today some colour. I have to explore that a bit more...I have a vague idea about colours.
So a colour study inspired by one of beautiful photos by domo arigato and few heads on a side.

Wow, this is pretty amazing. I especially like that emaciated figure with the bucket and the trees that look like the groin vault of a gothic cathedral. Hope you keep updating
I have nothing interesting to say but here's my sketchbook, perhaps you'll think I've drawn something interesting XD http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=167964

I decided to upload all the work I have done past few weeks. I also want to post my work at least once a week. I'm ashamed to post so little.

    In todays post:
    - some hogath and brigman hand studies (some of my own among them)
    - observational drawigs , random bus people and my best friends (8th page) and watercolour still life
    - two concepts. the second is for a forest hunter, I'm thinking of trying to colour it in PS
    - and an old face which I'm working on now

I'm trying to use photoshop more often. yesterday I did some quick sketches and few of them only are good enough to share with.

    - first is inspired by a dream I had once and since then I'm trying to visualise it.
It suppose to be arena with people walking on stilts and lions or some other danger waiting for them to fall down, sort of the Roman entertainment.
    - second is a doodle out of which some creature came out, I might finish that later
    - and last is my attempt on environment and aero perspective. It doesn't really work. I'm thinking of apply more colour to the rock with monastery.

Hello Michal! I've finally got back on. Very cool to see you around here.
I'm liking this sketchbook. Your forest/tree studies are all really interesting - should be great for some layouts . The Seurat SP is awesome as well.
Keep it up buddy, and I'll aim for the same, cya in the studio

hey man! Thanks for the kind words in my sb! WOW! Monster lines, nice studies great character and creature work too! In your photoshop study of your room I think some darker values would really finish it off as a great study (same problem with my speedy photoshop hands ). You are rockin though, really want to see more, can't wait [subscribe]
Are you from aucb animation by any chance?

    Great sketchbook!
I have also been working on line economy (reducing the number of marks).
One of the ways I've found is by just doing a sketch the way you normally would, then using a light box, tracing paper, or by holding your work up to a window, trace only the basic elements of the sketch. Another is to set yourself a strict time limit, say 1, or 2 minutes tops. You could try using a ball-point pen, marker, or colored pencil (not the erasable kind), the idea being, eventually you will only make the necessary marks.
Hope that helps answer that. I'm still working on that, myself.
    Good luck!

Hello. A week have past its time to upload my SP'ies

Lav - thanks for stopping by again. I came up wit this design by accident . I saw its face in a random doodle and then developed it

knut- Thanks man. Hopefully I get to finish them thou

zombifried - Thanks a lot for looking at my sketchbook! The idea with light box sounds like it might work. I will try it. I was using ball pens and ink but it still lets you doing lots of unnecessary marks. One medium that I found stops you from doing that is brush pen. It is actually hard to get used to because of its peculiarity. I have tried to do SP with it ( the 13may one) and i really had to be careful with my marks.

Lewis-Long - Hey! Yea! I am from aucb animation hehe What are you doing? Thanx for comments and crits man. I know what you mean with that student room, I have a tendency to abandon my work and start a new one, heh . not a good habit I know.

I like your style but i think that the colors of the papers you are using affect me. Try doing some sketches on white paper and develop your style there too. Your eviro work (i am not specialist, from what i see) is veeery interesting and has a personal style. Also, why not try some more expressions of your face, like the last one. Keep up the good work man!
