    I'm back D.

I see whole bunch of new rock solid superb anatomy, power ranger dudes in your latest updates hehehe ;]

Now i suggest to read a good lecture regarding composition and study old masters, it's THE most important thing you must write inside your brain in my honest opinion.

I wish you all the best, feelfree tos hare some thoughts in my sb.
P.S how long did it take you to "master" the anatomy?
    Which books you preffer?

Try throwing some basic backgrounds in with your characters it would really help like a ground plane with some rubble or debris to make things feel more solid.

Some of your characters look like they could be Megaman redesigns.

Dang man, cool design. The value structure in this one makes it a much better read as compared to the previous creature. Keep it up dude, any updates are good updates in this book!

MattGamer: Yah i can see what you mean, he does look like the Human torch in there eh? didnt intend on that, shit just happens when im doin ma thang. nawmean?

ricpolisel: Well like i said before, DanielC is a huge influence for me so thats probably why you see a bit of Chavez in my stuff, even tho that guys untouchable and in a league of his own, i will say that he is a big inspiration to me and that i really appreciate his methods and techniques when painting. Also, thanks for the comments !

Icecold: Yes! your back! ..uugh, wait... back from where again? lol! glad you like my mighty morphin art dudez, unlike the real rangers, i havent been doing much back flipping to get a whole finished piece done. So composition hasnt really concerned me, since my studies are more about me trying to get my brain around certain techniques rather then compositions... yeah i know, dodgy answer, im a coward, i have no dignity in finishing shit, so ill just leave future derek to deal with the slack that im leaving myself right now. To answer ur post script, im glad you used quotations around 'master' because i am in no means even close to being said thing. but im studying, like everyone else, from the usual books, the Hogarths to the Bridgman and more. i always have one of em right next to me. Also, observation is a big one.. if i had life drawing to go to, id be all up on that.. but its expensive and im cheap.

DeathByChris: Good suggestion man, they will come shortly, thanks!

    Cameli: thanks dude!

Quinn Simoes: Thanks man, appreciate the stop by

Metal Fingers: Hahah you re good with the morale boosts dude, love having you stop by! thanks!

kingkistas: Thanks dude, im loving your stuff too, means a lot! thansk again!

Fetsch: Thanks man, but call me Derek. Dernick is a nick name that someone gave me years ago... i think its a combo of.. well obviously.. Derek.. and secondly... nickname... the word.. nickname.. so.. my nickname would be.. Dernick... yah... brutal eh? oh well.. id rather be called WREEECCKKK!!!! cus.. it sounds like i break shit and punch faces and eat meat and sweat a lot... but for now, call me Derek.

    MattGammer: DANKs YA!

Rushlord: Thanks man ! happy to hear that! and my brushes are the ones that Whit Brachna made, i pretty much stick to that set exclusively.

hücumkedi: Haha thanks man, i doubt ill go back but maybe youll see something similar in the future!

fudgeloaf: Thanks so much man, im stoked that you like what you see dud!

    TheRiddler: Your great! thanks!

the Original [E]: Thanks for the comment and kind words dude !

HumbleEgo: thanks so much for stoppin in! means a lot!

okay, another unoriginal sketch.... i think ill stir the pot next week... take a break from anatomy and characters.

    till then. here.

p.s: does anyone know of any sort of app or website that shows you how to configure monitors correctly? my monitors from work and at home have different things going on.. colors are waaay different... any suggestions other then going in to the monitor settings? thanks.

I think once you get down to the legs of a character, they lose something. The fluidity and uniqe part of the character is lost and it looks like theres just some legs der. My 2 cents. as for the monitor thing, have you tried adjusting the settings in photoshop?

I agree with what hunchback said as well, also on this piece and this piece, a lot of the rendering is lost because the value ranges are soooooo extreme, having a lot of the character in darks is great but keeping the contrast within a good balance helps a piece a ton. I dont remember where I read it, but, low contrast+edge control=win.

yeah i have to agree with both of you guys.

my legs need work, i rush my poses to fast so that ill get to the fun rendering stuff quicker.. and sometimes that just hurts me in the end.

i also want to mention that i think my monitor at work is the culprit for the odd contrasts in these last couple sketches..i recently got a new PC there, and the way that they are set up must be making my images look to dark when viewed on a non-funky monitor... so ill look in to that as well. looking at the last dude with my own monitor at my house, hes way to dark compared to the one i did at work... so im just confused on how to match them back up.... gotta mess around with some color settings again, ugh. anyways, more to come next week! happy weekend!

boom-shaka-laka for the last figures, great character designs and rendering again.

push your equip/prop design a bit too, and as kostas said, just drop up a "full" picture, with an atmosphere around your creature!

    keep on madskillz!

    cheers

Meta Fingers: DUDE! your are awesome!! i think that site helped out a TON! im not sure if my monitors are 100% perfect, and they still arnt the same as each other, BUT! i feel that they are much more accurate then before. and because of this, i owe you something...do you like babies?

Veshkau: thanks dude, i struggle with hands, so im glad to hear you like them!

surus: thanks man, but what do you mean the crossover-parts-of the creature .. you mean his folded arms?

DANKA: Thanks so much for takin some time to look and reply!

Holland: Thannnkks doood!!! haha ur enviros are deadly lookin!

seetsy: thanks man, rendering is the fun part, but i think thats gonna bite me in the ass later if i dont start honing out my proportions and gesture skills. thanks again!

jozulus: Yah your right, as of now, i think my equipment/prop are suffering from my lack of focus on them. but im aware of it, and ill give some time towards those kind of things very soon thanks for poppin in!

Mr. Pryminista: the minista is heeuuurr!!! haha ! and thanks for the comment!

okay so works got me on crunch time, sad face, and i basically have no free time to mess around on my own ridiculousness. so.. this is all ull be getting from me for now.. i might "finished" em later.. render and color em more.. but that depends on my work load....... thats what she said.
