    Red face XZACTO's - Sketchbook

OK, I have decided I have enough sketches to start a sketchbook, be kind!

[The DODAC: This creature was made up from a military label that in reality
means "Department of Defense Ammunition Code" but was turned into a fabled
HALF BALD EAGLE/ HALF DODO BIRD that eats squirrels and small children when it can

refrence used - this image was for the rider (a friend of mine) I printed it up for him.

this image was before I knew what atmospheric vanishing and perspective were. yeah I was a noob.

I just did this one the other night, I couldn't sleep so i grabbed a sharpie and sketched an image of a japanese-ish? style of a building from the turtle-head of a dream i started to have. It was a quick 10 min drawing, so I touched it up in photoshop while i was in scan/crop mode.

yeah my linework sucks.... terribly. I am working on it so - take that!

This is for that new weekly / community thing

    DEEP - UNDERSEA UTOPIA

any tips - pointers are definitely needed. I lack direction and structure =\

keep in mind this is a Wip - cropping and detail haven't been addressed yet.

    Thanks Ivan =D

    I appreciate the comment.

I guess Creatures are what I am better at (not gonna say I am good at anything) in retrospect to all the other junk I do.

unfortunately .. well fortunately i guess. my sub-par skills command humility whenever the opportunity allows for it.

another quick speed paint before I go to bed.

I AM ALWAYS open to crits. lookin' to get better with lighting, composition, technique, well, everything I guess.

I had fun with this, the rocks were done with a "difference" filter on my tan brush. it offered me some interesting 'light/shadow' solutions.

a quick thumb I just did.
I am learning I need to do more thumbs before starting full-sized finished images. there are too many pros and almost no cons to drawing quick and making thumbnail sketches in this manor.

    peace!
