Jade eyes - help with color

I'm having trouble finding a good color palette for the shading of her skin. Does any of you guys have any suggestions and/or tips?

Also, if anyone has a better idea for a compositon, let me know

Depends on how you're planning to take this. Creepy? Lighter almost monochromatic.

Hm. I'd say something leaning toward a slightly tanned complexion. Freckles would be a bonus. Those eyes still freak me out, though.

@Falchion: Slightly tanned? You think so? I was thinking of a more pale skin, but who knows. Freckles are a very nice idea!

Haha, the eyes weren't suposed to freak out. Maybe it's because I haven't worked much on the eyelashes yet.

I had the same initial reaction. LOL. I think it's just because they're so unnatural looking - the iris is soooo huge and then the pupil sooooo tiny.. They just look.. alien or something.

It's cool, in a stylized way. I'll be curious to see where this piece winds up heading.

I think the background colour really clashes with the colour of her eyes right now. Not sure if you're going to change that though. Are you?

As for skin tone - Pale would look really nice with the eyes thats for sure.

@kittymeow84: No, I don't think I'll be changing the background color... I can't picture another color that'd fit the image.

After checking the tutorial kittens showed me, I think I might pull out a nice skin color palette for this painting.
If it turns out decent, I'll post the final piece on the forums!
