I highly recommend doing a few portraits, and getting an exact likeness. You may (or maybe not) feel like at this point it's impossible, but it's very doable. What you will need to do is start lightly and try and work from large mass shapes to smaller details and measure, measure, and measure until you've got everything located correctly. get the shape of the eyes, the nose and mouth by finding where things begin and end. Try to "feel" your way around the form and when the construction looks right move into tone. start by mapping out the major tone changes (very lightly you don't want to see edges where there really aren't any) and i see that you know that instead of shading in, you want to make marks in the direction of the form (reminders are reaffirmations). I recommend working from a photograph, but make sure the lighting event shows the planes well and things are clearly defined. Also DO NOT focus on one aspect at a time, equally develop your drawing (a mistake i continue to slap myself in the forehead for not doing right). do the eyes together as opposed to one at a time, that way it will be much easier to make them look like a pair. GO SLOW, it doesn't matter how long it takes, you'll get faster with experience. I'm recommending this because faces are probably the easiest things to see as inaccurate. Keep pushing yourself to do great drawings from observation and you will be surprised at how much you improve in your overall drawing ability. your doing great with the anatomy, but the worst mistake you can make (i made this one) is to allow yourself to get better at some parts than others (hands are a classic example). Your talent is apparent, I don't know if you need to here this but just in case, DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!!!!!

Yuki_slider: hey Yuki, what exactly do you mean with layer? If you mean that I´m first doing a rough sketch before "shaping" the body than yes.

exodusparadigm: Thank you very much to take some time to write this for me. Yeah, faces/heads are a big problem for me. Will do more portraits now. thanks for the tipps I will follow those and I WON´T GIVE UP, although it is sometimes hard not to get discouraged.

Thank you, so heres an update:

Oh my gosh so much stuff! I LOVE YOUR FASHION STUFF!!! I can't believe it, how could I forget how much I love fashion illustration? Thank you for reminding me. I like all your studies, and all the love you put in your drawings. I feel like you enjoy your drawings a lot. Its kind of a rare feeling to be honest. It makes me want to draw! Keep studying, but don't ever lose that pure creativity you put in your drawings. I think I am just going to come back here to get inspired lol. keep drawing please =)
