Tales from the Crypt: Fantasy Flight Games Images (UPDATE pg 3 mini dump of card art)

    Whats happenin gang?

I hope your all doing great and I gotta say this place has been *on fire* with all the phenomenal works being posted lately, its like everyone is getting better; I really love and need to see that!

Well, I finally got some NDA clearance on some of the work ive been doing over the past year so I thought id go ahead and slap em up.
Just about all of it has been for Fantasy Flight Games, who are a really fun bunch to freelance for.

The majority of these images are for the Warhammer Invasion Living Card game that just came out, with one of them for the Call of Cthulhu Living Card game.
Ill update this thread later with the other stuff after its been cleared.

The turnaround time on these cards was pretty tough, but I did the best I could with the time I had. The directors seemed to think that my style would fit the Orc Armies the best, so they gave me exclusively Orc Army pieces.
You Warhammer junkies/experts will have to be the final judge on whether you think I captured them with the justice they deserve.

I really enjoyed working on this IP, it gave me a chance to venture into some new territory since the Warhammer universe has this really dark sense of humor and bleak, quasi-cartoonish design sense mixed with total brutality.

    ...
Ehh, hmm..I guess the only new territory for me there is the "quasi-cartoonish" element, hee hee.

The Call of Cthulhu piece was really extra fun for me to work on due to the fact that im a H.P. Lovecraft *fanatic*. The art is based on the short story "The Doom That Came To Sarnath", the solid creatures are supposed to be psuedo-gelatinous and jellyish, while others take on an almost phantom-like state of existence.

Read the story to find out why!
Sorry, shameless plug; I love the man's work.

Thats it for now, I hope you guys and gals enjoy them.
Comments and critiques are always welcome, thanks for taking the time to leave either, I appreciate it.

    Best Wishes and God bless!

All images are © Fantasy Flight Games

yay! stoked to see you posting these man! that last one...the armor on it....its amazing how you do that. i could gush all night about how ill i think your work is. i know folks get so caught up woth your insane rendering, but man, the thoughtfulness of your COMPOSITIONS just blows my mind every time.

its what separates the boys from the men in my opinion.

and if that is ideed the case, you sir are nothing but man (no homo).

in my mind i picture you looking kind of like the brawny paper towel man, or a cross between Schwarzenegger and vin diesel, powerfully wielding every aspect of picturemaking with your rock hard oily biceps like its a shiny jewel encrusted barbarian sword that you pulled from some rock in a far off cave where you had to smite a fire breathing beast for it. or something like that.

you are an MVP of bad assness Brad!

Its some of the most rock solid art that I have seen in awhile. Really stellar work and definitely outshines your influences and contemporaries. Yer a bright star man just getting ready to explode. Big things are in store for you, well deserved.

    El Coro de los Magnificos!

OMG, the dirty talk is-like, making me so hawt LOLOLOL!!!1one!!11!!!

You know man I feel extremely privileged to have your friendship and you know by now how I feel about what you and Massive Black/CA.ORG have done for me, but I still have to say how excited I get when I hear stuff like this, man; it only makes me want to work harder, climb higher and give back anything I can.
Im really happy you approve of my compositions, it gets me totally ripped to draw and knowing your an instructor on top of it all sends my already OCD drive to improve into friggin orbit.
Maybe one day the drawing gods will grace me with the chance to go out there and take some courses at your school so I can get my ass shredded in some classes!

All the best to you and yours, boss,
    Best wishes
    Brad

    Man I hope your right!
I cant thank you enough for the praise Bomba, it's really magical when you hear it from the big-talent guys, you feel like your finally getting somewhere.
In all honesty Ill never, ever feel like im anywhere near what my influences have done and still do; I feel like ive still got so so much to learn and do and prove.
And honestly it feels good to see stuff thats better than mine; getting my butt hurt when I come here has led me to where im at now and will hopefully lead me to higher places; I need to stay hungry.
Your kind words mean a lot to me man, I hope my future work continues to please!

Best wishes to all and draw, draw DRAW!
    Brad

Argh! Must resist the urge to blatantly rip off your fantastic style!

Seriously, great control of soft and hard lines. Everything looks eye poppingly three dimensional.

Some great movement, and atmosphere. I especially like your horses.

I do find the chainmail overlay/texture a touch unsubtle and distracting.
