Should be sleeping right now but I thought to do a few more strokes on this study to make it semi decent.

hey good progress man! don't be afraid to just fill up your sketchbooks pages like crazy, though the negative space in some of them is nice too.

Been feeling depressed for a while but I’m feeling much better now. Sorry for the bad drawing. Mixing studies and imagination and also trying to get into hand painted texturing, I don’t like using photo texturing. Django Unchained is a really disturbing movie.. uggh.. I recently watched Mongol which was really good.

skMOP - Thanks Vincent, yip I will =) Yip, playing with space in those ones.

    Happy pancake day =)

So yeah no drawing tonight, very unusual. Anyway, one thing I’ve been noticing in my work for a while is that my colours are a bit cool, yeah I wish my work was cool, but no I mean cold in colour. And the Dyck study is just hilarious.

Heey! Here are some layouts for my new animation, still a lot more to do, I didn't realise how much work this was going to be until I started on it yesterday, shew. Animation is really hard for a lazy person like me..

Zou - Thanks man, I'll try that, I appreciate your thoughts =)

Worked so damn long on this piece today, but it probably doesn't show. I used the pen tool and channel selections to make the surfaces (I did do a sketch underneath as well in case you're wondering). I'm beginning to like cleaner surfaces now. I have to go to bed early tonight, so tomorrow is not looking good for drawing, it's a bit frustrating. Byee =)

Got feedback on my MA animation stuff, it went a lot better than I thought. I was expecting to get a lot of flack for not going to lectures, but things went smoothly. Anyway, here’s studies from last day or so..

Couldn’t finish the painting, it’s kinda late here, but same deal as the figure study but with more focus on half tones and edges. Need to start earlier, or get up earlier, either way =)

yooooooo edward!!! These shape works you do are really interesting. It also shows how important the sillouete of the stuffs are. That combination of sharp border and smooth interior details is pleasing.Keep improving , i think you are moving forward. Drawing, being able to correctly draw and understand 3d forms will be important , so keep it up!!!

Heyy =) Well I got my marks back for half the Masters course work.. and I’m kinda not happy. But hey I’m sure this is a sign that something else more positive will happen for me =) Tried harsh light because I haven’t painted much of that before. Also tried not to use any post processing (colour adjustments etc). Cheers =)

Just a quick experiment this morning. I’ve been meaning to bring in some leaf brushes into my brush set, so I downloaded these ones - http://johannschill.com/7-blaetter-p...fur-photoshop/ and altered the scattering and spacing settings to my liking. Also came up with a new basic brush with a bit of size variation which I quite like. Anyway think this will help me to draw leaves and trees faster, so something learnt and not much time spent =) Have to redo one of my model sheets for uni, apparently it wasn’t up to standard so I have to redo it.. =/ Anyway, cheers =)

jablar - Thanks. Yip, I don't use it because then I can see how far off I am from the original values/colour (which is quite far atm). =) Cheers =)

Over the weekend I tried drawing in a more concepty way (http://fengzhudesign.blogspot.co.uk/). My first attempt sucked a lot but I think this one’s better. I… also learnt how to draw ellipses digitally which I’m super pleased with now.

They are still a bit shakey in this study because I changed my way of drawing them about half way through, after finding out I couldn’t draw them properly, heheh..

For ellipses - Draw out a circular marquee in Photoshop, stroke it with a drawing brush and then Transform (using Ctrl on the control points to manipulate) it into the ellipse you want. That’s it! As compared with some other oh-so-very-tiring ways of doing it, this suits me way more … =)

My girlfriend gave me some tips on colour! =)

    Cheers for now =)
