    Coffee Coffee Coffee

Hi, my name is Edward, I've always wanted to draw, but never knew how to, until I found ConceptArt.ORG

I draw inspiration from my favourite artists Hannes, Graven Tung and Linda Bergkvist. I also draw from life.

I don't like lumps in my banana milkshake =)

Some concepts for a 'chocolate coin' loving pirate, he's addicted to chocolate, in particular he hoards coins of chocolate.

Occasionally he goes on the odd adventure or two, he's retired you see.
He kept part of the mast from his old ship (Calypso), as a caber weapon, to remind him of his seafaring days.

The first set of sketches were my initial inspiration, and then I settled for a hunched over pirate look in the second set.

I'm going to be sculpting a maquette of this soon, hopefully it turns out okay.

    Hello Clockworksnail

Thank you bro, I quite like it here, it's rather inspiring to be here. I'll take a squiz through your sketchbook shortly.

Sure thing, I'll take a look at the lady in post 4 and make some corrections. Thank you for that as I was going to paint her soon.

    Hello Taylor!

Thank you for the ups on my work. Those thumbs are working pretty decent yes.

I've always wanted to draw a spinal column, I may use this in another piece which I had an idea for, so that was certainly good practice for it.

Good luck with your things bro.

    Heya, tonight's drawings!

Here are some of my first studies of an apple and a banana, using some willow charcoal.

    Was hella fun! =)

For the banana I followed a tutorial, take a look here if you're interested:
    http://www.learn-to-draw-lessons.com...-drawings.html

And for the apple, I went out on a limb.

I think the banana fared a little better though. Hehe.

    Heya
First of all............thanks for commenting in my SB
Look there are two things that you need to have really clear, first, when doing a drawing from imagination, you gotta do a firm structure and a believable intention before putting on the details. Second when you're drawing from life, the best thing you can do is forget everything you know, and simply draw what you have in front of you, no structure, no nothing

    Keep it up!!

Thank you very much for the advice Andres, that seems to help quite a bit, I feel a bit more focused now.
'Structure' and a believable intention for imaginative pieces, and draw what you see for life studies. I'll try to follow this.

From the other feedback, I made some corrections to the lady's breasts.

And here's a new concept piece, although half finished, entitled 'Someplace with Space Guns!'

Thank you Taylor, I'll do some work on the middle bit of the concept piece.
Also thank you very much for the tip on Burne Hogarth, I've ordered his Dynamic Figures book, and will likely be doing his studies during our December break.

Here are some studies from school and a few old things.

I've been busy struggling with my school project, we have to finish a character model sheet (front view, 3/4 view, side view, and a back view) by this Friday.

From life drawing class, the first picture is from my first week of life drawing.

And then the other two pictures are from my second week (or maybe third, I can't remember now.)

I was very nervous in the first week as I haven't done life drawing before, completely new to it.

Anyway, posting this up even if it looks like dog, haha.

Pirate character model sheet. Going to make a maquette out of this character soon.

I've managed to finish the front and three-quarter views so far. I still have to do the back and side (profile) views.

Some random stuff, drew most of these either waiting for the teachers to arrive, or when I'm bored at student rep meetings, which is usually most of the time. Haha!

    Heya Huhu

I'll try to do that bro. I just need to find out what the meaning of fuel is first though.

Here is my finished Someplace with space guns piece. If there's something off then please let me know, otherwise I'm going to put this one behind me.
It was a study in shape and composition.

    Thank you.
