Really cool sketchbook! Glad I found it
That's one ripped Pegasus. It might be my me, but I thought horses had leaner upper body. I like the tail feather rather then the horse's tail. it would make it easier to fly around.
"Another commission! Hardly get around to practice nowadays x_x"
Think of it this way commission are practice of sorts.
Depends on the horse, some really are quite muscular and when in movement they will show more. I did exaggerate it a little bit because I wanted the creature to look powerful . Thanks! And yeah I treat them as practice but my commissions tend to be things I'm already strong at, while I'd like to practice on things I'm poor at, heh.

Sweet, I'm glad I found your SB here. I didn't even knew you had one !! I definitely watch this thread.
Thanks Vayne! Crit away if you do spot something odd . Speaking of odd, this next one is a humanoid mouse character portrait that I was commissioned for. It took a lot to make her pretty as opposed to creepy (and I suppose she's still kind of creepy) but it was good portrait practice and I'm actually fairly satisfied with the result. Apart from the hair, I need to work on how I do hair.
Do you think you overcomplicated the hair?
Some of the general critiques on hair is that the artist overworks the hair either by doing individual strands, or the artist blocks it in well, but focusing too much on the strands again.
I like how the hair flows down and overlaps the collar, and the eyes complement the nose, cheekbones, and mouth, and overall mousey feel to the character.
It also reminds me of a video game character which I can't recall at the moment.
More work. So little time for practice (though I suppose with the work piling up I'll get plenty of practice as I go)!
Last illustration is for a school project; we're working on a game that will motivate kids to go outside again by making them do quests in the "real world", whilst making use of the stuff they love so much (apps, computer games, etc).
damn i havent stopped by your sketchbook in a looong time. you are making some serious strides! that school project seems really cool! do you mind if i ask how old you are? i am kind of shocked to see your still in school, your an awesome artist! anyhoo, keep up the good work!
Hey Nicky, thanks! I'm 22, still have one year to go in school then I'm done . I spent 7 years in secondary school though (longest possible in the Netherlands, our system is a little different), stopped one year to work and then started doing Game Art so I AM a little late with my education, to my regret. I would much prefer to just work right now but if I don't finish my education I'll have no papers plus a pretty big loan, haha.
Xolotl is not a school project by the way, it's a side project I'm doing with a friend in Canada .
Wow I can't beleive how much good stuff you have crammed in here of late its going to take me ages to gaze lovingly at all that!! lol
I think old cerberus up there is my favourite though there isd a real menace to him!! good stuff though
all the best mate.
A great kind hearted lumbering bullock

Hi. Your pegasi and mystical creatures in general are really enjoyable. The pages that I've looked through so far look really nice!
I really should check this sketchbook more often. You've added some awesome stuff !
Hi, very nice sketchbook! You are great at painting skin and I really like your design of the "bear-wolf" in post #313.
Have a nice day!
