I realize that my work is not nearly rendered enough and doesn't have a finished quality to it. I must work on this! :/

I think if you're after a more finished quality you should try to plan your images out further. Most of the stuff I see seems to be sketches and stuff, so try taking an image from the initial thumbnail to complete rendering and see if that gives you the finished look you're after.

Going to post some of my most recent sketchbook (moleskine)

I made a list of things to draw everyday..tell me if I should add anything?:
10 hands/feet, gestures (10 minimum), facial anatomy/studies (minimum 2), eyes/lips/nose (minimum 10), life study of an object (minimum 1), 3-D object light study (minimum 5), 1 or no imagination, blind drawing (minimum 5)

apparently my images exceed the size limit for CA. I give up.
