I don't really like it, because the forms are not much defined.

I really like the style of your paintings![]()
And i checked the first page of your sketchbook again, you've always been very unique in your paintings and eventho you've grown and learned more, i sometimes wonder what you strive to accomplish. Some of your paintings lack a sense of depth and contrast, and i personally don't think all paintings NEED to have this in order to be a good piece of work but if you want to evolve more in the direction of Concept Art you might want to work on these elements.
That being said, i personally am really fond of the way you paint in your recent updates![]()

those creatures rock!
Thanks Lav, yes I'm aware of that, currently I don't want to do pictures with meanings or stories (sometimes stories), I'm doing lots of studies to know how to make a believable picture. I do a lot of designing and a bit of personal storytelling with pencils though.
Thanks Parsakoira, checked out your SB too, awesome stuff.

arrrghh, well speaking of making something look believable, your spiderlike creature made me jump up when i checked your update >.<
Hate spiders, but love the creature design![]()
Thanks Lav, I think you will actually find one spider species to be quite adorable, jumping spiders, because of their 2 huge puppy eyes, in front of 6 little ones
1. one, from imagination and 5 min a piece, so all together 1 and half hour. My goals were: to practice color, drawing with big brush, to practice imagination to come up with something new every time. I actually learned much from it.
2 one, WIP.

Why do you have to put that image inside my head? That's just cruel...
In your thumbs i really like the third one (counting left to right) and fifteenth one the most
Thanks Lav, I think these are one of the best turn outs also.
Update on the previous roboman, and man with robosuit. Thought I take them to more finished level, but have so much schoolwork to do, since I recently started doing them, or at least, will, tomorrow.

1. After doing some studies.
Tried Jia Ruan style, with Blur's good brush, some of his paintings are here
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=200186
You can download the brushes he uses on page 4, on one comment where is, "download link is at the end of this article".
2,3. Did these live on our school pictures sale/exhibition opening. Where people can buy paintings, chairs, Christmas cards and stuff. I could only use a half of my Wacom, and could only see painting on wall/screen, not on laptop. I got used to it finally. I dont like the pic that I made, but I think they got an idea, how is it possible to draw in photoshop. Hope I do better ones next year, if I can attend.

Tere, Heiki!
Vaatasin su sketširaamatut.. päris mõnusa fiilinguga tööd.
Kas sa õpid mõnes asutuses digitaalset kunsti?
Best wishes,
Rauno
Hetkel tegelen ajalooga Tallinnas. Aega kooli kõrvalt joonistamiseks on suhteliselt vähe. Süvenemiseks pole eriti aega, kuid eks ma püüa võimaluse korrak arendada oma oskusi ka selles vallas. Õppematerjalideks kasutan suht kõike, mis kätte satub ja mis mullle meeldib.
Mida sa silmas pidasid õpimaterjali laiendamise all?
Commissioned portrait, discovered the awesomeness of smudging, and tried out new brushes, Blur's Good Brushes, they give very good traditional texture.

One of my most refined and finished drawings, which is sad because it took me only two days, I havent spend so much time on a picture for a very long time.
I had much more ideas for that picture, like artistic tattooes and a neclace of a lower jaw, but forgot to add them. Maybe I will, probably not.
Happy new year.

I prefer not to post amateur pics, but it'll be nice to see them here few years later. And since I will look at them in a few years, I'd just like to take time to say: "Hello myself".
Second one is a bit more than an hour.
Critique is Cool.

yeah man! like your texture and colors.
portraits are great too. Keep up the good work.
you got some good atmosphere in these.
Good stuff! You have some great ideas. I would like to see some more longpaints though.
Really interesting work. Lots of high chroma colors and great use of texture. You might be able to bring more focus to your central points by introducing more softness and grayness in areas that arent of interest, this doesnt go for all your paintings Im saying some of them just get a little lost with all the texture. Still nice though they were fun to look atI like where your headed

Sketchbook!
Oo, see 21.12 portree on lahe, mõnusad tekstuurid. Foto tegid ise või saadetigi mingi välguga lajatatud seebikas ja kästi maalida?
Hea kraam, eriti need viimased ulmed.
Thanks danlucas
Thanks Andorz, now I occasionally do some longer ones, and will do when I learn how to draw perspective and environment in PS.
Thanks Malakuko, I also feel that sometimes I add too much texture and pic becomes too "hairy".
Thanks h2rra, I didnt took the picture on that portrait, sadly most of the commissioned portraits are photographed like that.
