this is a lion zodiac sign for my friend, she wanted to do most of the zodiac signs in art school, i helped her, but for some reason we didn't finish them, and now she brought up that topic again.

great sketchbook, love your style! will be looking forward for more updates![]()
You've got some cool stuff here, although as a gut reaction I feel like maybe the colours aren't saturated enough? I don't mean they should be bright exactly, but I feel that they look somewhat muddy.
I'm not sure if that helps you or if that's just my opinion, in which case I'll stop. I don't mean to be an ass!
Thanks Lav
Thanks Slothboy3000, every critique is helpful, and that deffenetly helps, they are muddy from time to time because I add color almost the very last thing, and I like not so saturated, but I'm still learning.
It's a plaster cast drawing of my sisters hand, she did this in arts school, in school. Didn't turn out that great. so next time i'm going to do it with real pencils or graphite, not mechanical pencil.

There are so many speed painting videos, that I wanted to upload one myself too, so if you wanna know how I painted this Charles Manson newbie pic, go to
youtube link
It's also mostly done mostly with Jamie Jones brushes

Nice works here. Be carefukl with the colours and use of white. Try to work on the saturation, your works look a bit pale and milky. You might want to take a look at Arne's rendering tutorial.
Also, your works would gain in depth if you tried a "glaze" effect with very dark and saturated colours, at a really low opacity, in Multiply mode.
Good work anyway! Keep it up!
Cheers![]()
Thanks for the useful tips Abrodos, yeah I know Arnes tutorial, which is awesome and I'll deffenetly try that glaze effect.
So, my first pencil sketches here on CA.
The first is quite old character horror stuff, the other is "an elf with big left arm".

Mark English is so awesome that I just had to study his masterpieces, this is my humble portrait of Tanel Padar, inspired by the master.

Hey Estonian, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! I appreciate your encouragement. Your work on the other hand is awesome! Not only the drawing aspect, but the colors you use are also stunning.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

lol, mindfudge! very cool![]()
Haha, that second last post had me fooled for a moment. I scrolled down and thought the part where it's hands were painted was actually another sketchbook post, I was confused for a moment before I realised it was one whole paintingVery cool idea! Nice imaginative stuff in here!
Insanity is the key!
Also, studies are a key. And passion is a key. Also, so are inspiration, motivation and dedication. Talent can be a key. Insomnia can also be a key, depression is a sad rusty little key. Damn, artists need one hell of a keyring.

I really like the 27th post. the concept works as a whole and the strips of flesh that connect the ribcage to the pelvis look damn cool. I guess it's something about the contrasting forms that makes it so cool and interesting (the big mass of the chest against the bands of flesh) and its unity (in color, form and, for instance, the direction of the arms (silhouette)) make it so pleasant to watch. although I think the background should be painted more smoothly, right now it attracts a lot of attention, and I believe that wasn't your intention.
keep going!
Thanks ruuhkis, that's some damn good advice.
So, these are my studies, I study minimum 1.5 hours a day, that min is from 22.30 to 00.00, and it's all pencil stuff.
the first one is of clothes, I recently discovered how important is to know how to draw basic stuff like suits...
the second study is of Massive Black concept art pieces, which I got from MB portfolio.
The third is a photo about a dead wasp in a jar filled with liquid...
I really like that kind of stuff, kinda horror and makes weird feeling in a way.
The last one is my first half complete character design, I usually don't render that much.

This footage was taken 19. april in a sacred laboratory where many scientists did experiments on live "monsters", that some civil people had discovered from coming out of sea. This footage is unfinished.

Yes man looking sooooooooo great.
Im getting excited about this, can't wait too see the stuff you'll keep on busting out.
Your going about it the right way, doing imagination work then studying weakness or whatever but most importantly your pushing your imagination work.
Keep at it, nd looking forward to more
