Advice to grow as an artist

I'm looking for some advice as to what to focus on as an artist, whether it be fixing anatomy or learning Photoshop. I'm aiming to be a comic book artist and I've been practicing for about three years now. I've gotten a lot of compliments over my pencils but I still feel as if I'm lacking something.

I want to know what I should do next to grow as well-rounded artist. I can only draw with a pencil; I can't ink or color or paint or even use a tablet that well. I want to work for a company and tell stories soon, but I don't want to stop growing and learning.

I've used Photoshop a little, but I don't know how to color or what method would go best with my drawings. I don't want to do super-realism, just stick with my comic look. But I also don't want to be limited by superheroes in tights. I'm looking for any idea on where to go from here.

Colored by someone else, but I thought the style went well with my drawing.

    Hey,
My name is Alex at first i've been trying to become a comicbook artist, these days i'm still reading comics but i'm more interested to learn how to paint digitaly and traditionaly.
Like i said i still like comics, drawing and reading them but something in the work of the great artists like the old works Giovanni Tiepolo and the works of todays artists like Luis Royo made me do the swith to painting and more realistic drawing...but thats me.

It's hard to descide for you, you need to choose your own path but like you said yourself - you're doing only penciled pictures, try to use other media: water color, oils, guashes, markers, pens and etc.
Try some other styles, i see that your pencil drawing skills are quite good, you could try doing some full shaded pictures with a use of more than one or two pencils, combine colour in them ink, paint whatever you like....

Anyway, hope you"ll find your way, cause it will be sad to loose someone with your potential.
    cheers,
    Alex.

    Open for commissions......just PM me.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to bump or not, but it's been two days since a post and I'm still looking for words of advice.

Thought I'd give it one last try before giving up. It's been another two days so I'll give it another bump, hoping for advice. If there are no more replies after this, I'll just let this thread die.
